A Great Life

From Cal Poly as a player to being drafted by the Eagles to being a legendary coach of the Raiders and then 30 years of broadcasting....what a life...RIP and thanks for the memories...

I watched the Peacock show, ‘All Madden,’ this afternoon. Lots of fun and a sweet homage to him.

Madden lived in Pleasanton and had numerous real estate interests in the downtowns there and in Livermore. A number of friends here had stories of seeing him in local restaurants and always taking time to talk to fans about the good old days. Seemed like a genuine good guy

The Rose Hotel is one.

I believe he has lived there the past 20 years!

In the hotel? ... An employee told me he came in once or twice a week for coffee. I was told by a gate guard where you can hike the Ridge off of Foothill, that the Madden family owns several homes right behind the wall in their own private section. The larger community is gated, but you can drive through to park and hike. It may be called Golden Eagle.
