Daniel Descalso named St. Louis Cardinals' bench coach

    Bench coach in MLB is basically the manager's right-hand person (can't say man now that there officially female coaches in MLB). If the manager gets tossed the bench coach often takes over for the remainder of the game. This is pretty impressive for Descalso, especially because I think he only recently retired as a player and doesn't have a lot of coaching experience.

    The Cardinals' manager is Oliver Marmol so Descalso will become a Marmol-aide.
