The UC Davis Athletics website now displays 40 players, 27 of whom are returning from last year. That is a lot of depth, and it ought to excite all 5 actual UCD baseball fans.

Tommy Nicholson and his staff laid a lot of important groundwork last year, so they have a lot of experience.

Because of all this returning depth 6 field positions seem set, with the question marks being at the infield corners. This is my guess for the primary starters at each position, assuming none of these players are dealing with serious injuries.

Closer: No idea.

I entered Wooldridge as the primary DH as it's the easiest path to allow him him to develop as a two-way player until they figure out whether he's a better pitcher or hitter. When he's done pitching he can remain in the game as a hitter without affecting the rest of the lineup.
