It would have been awesome if the old Pac12 would have stayed and we would have eventually gotten an invite.

I work with UCLA alums and they are already planning a trip with me for when we play them. This is what happens when we play consistently “better” programs.

I am pretty sure that with a better product people will come.

Hell, I almost drove up from LA because of the playoffs. The only thing that stopped me from doing so was a pesky cold.

Have fun defending yourself against the UC. The UC is a law firm that sometimes dabbles in education.

    Great post.

I never understood the whole “cow” thing. If anything, it should be a “all animals” thing.

We have a Winery on campus!!!!! That should tell you everything.

A small anecdote from last November. I went to the MU (haven’t been there in over 10 years). Looked around for nice swag, none. Then I asked a group of student workers where I could buy wine produced by the school, blank looks. I was super disappointed.

Hahaha. Not our guiding light but just an intriguing story.

Davis will move up to FBS and it will be an exciting time. What we need now is an FCS Championship. Just one.

    Some AI help:

In 2024, the Indiana University (IU) athletic department generated a record $173.5 million in total operating revenue, with football driving significant gains. Ticket sales for football increased by roughly $4 million to $12.8 million. Following a successful season, the team was set to earn a $20 million NCAA payout, alongside a $50 million, 20-year stadium naming rights deal attributed to program momentum.
Key financial highlights for IU Football:
Revenue & Growth: Ticket sales grew significantly, with athletic director Scott Dolson noting a more than 50% increase in sales, driven by coach Curt Cignetti's first year.
Investment & Spending: IU increased its annual football spending to $61.6 million, exceeding the conference median.
NIL and Donations: The football program raised over $2 million in NIL funds via a matching campaign, with significant contributions from donors like Mark Cuban.
Overall Department Health: While the department had record revenue, it reported a $3 million deficit in 2024.
The 2025 figures (covering the 2024-25 season) are not yet fully finalized, but the team's success resulted in massive, unprecedented revenue growth from tickets, concessions, and donations.

I am all for the move to FBS, but if we can win some chips at the FCS level let’s do so. FBS in 5 years!!!!!

Sounds like an Aggie Square. I’m glad we started building before them, but I am also glad for the higher education investment.

Yeah, it was a personal decision. Sometimes you love a place but have to leave because of the economics of the situation. I still consider him an Aggie for being here. The most formative year I had at Davis was my freshman year.

Man, these are fire. That interlocking CA is wild. I have legitimately never seen it. How did we end up with the double font logo and the cartoon horse from the 2000s?
