• Week 9: Weber State @ UC Davis
I like our chances this week. It'll be close, and we cannot afford for the entire team to shutdown for 1-2 quarters in a row like they did with CP and SUU. If they put in a solid 4 like they did at NDSU, we've got this.
  • FCS Playoff Bracketology Week 7
@movielover - I totally agree. We all got waaay ahead of ourselves after the good showings at Cal and NDSU. From now on it's got to be "one week at a time."
  • Week 6: UC Davis @ North Dakota
@SochorField Good perspective - i was starting to lose my cool.
  • Week 6: UC Davis @ North Dakota
This week will be very telling. I think after Cal and NDSU, the guys may have gotten a bit big for their britches, drank the "rat poison" as Nick Saban says. Also, we've gotten spoiled pretty quickly with Hawkins and Co. Let's not forget where the program was just 3 years ago - I believe in Hawkins and the players. UND will be difficult, no doubt, but I bet we pull out a close win on the road. Gut check time.
  • Montana Game
Make no mistake; this is going to be a battle. While I would love to see a blowout, i fully expect this to come down to the wire.
  • Week 4: UC Davis @ North Dakota State
North Dokota State is bad ass; no doubt about it. But in the words of Mr. Miyagi, we're pretty okay too. Time to shut up and play the damn game already.
  • Week 4: UC Davis @ North Dakota State
Wasn’t the line +13.5 at Cal? Now +25.5? What the hell do they know anyway. Aggie pride cannot be measured.
  • Sac State football back?
They are back, or at least massively improved from where they've been. I think it's much better for UCD if Sac and Poly are doing well. Makes the rivalries a lot more interesting.
  • Bad press for the Band-Uh!
Nothing to see here. Just UCD's version of Chairman Mao's cultural revolution. Move along...
  • Bad press for the Band-Uh!
That stinks. For us and the Mandarins - I am sure they're great folks, but I don't expect them to receive a warm welcome. I would bet most that come to Aggies games don't religiously follow Aggiesportstalk.com, and will be surprised and let down when the Band-uh is replaced with the Sacramento Mandarins.
  • Ticket prices
@MTBAggie yup - time to rename the section “University sanctioned assemblage of music enthusiasts.” Should be super duper.
  • Bad press for the Band-Uh!
@69aggie I’m also a King Hall alum and am very confused about the selection of this firm, their process, and this result with no apparent chance for appeal. We’re all super busy, but is this something we could fight?
  • Bad press for the Band-Uh!
Just a bummer - seems like there wasn’t an abundance of due process here, and I really think it’s damaging to lose the band-uh. When I played in the 90s we had a really strong bond with the band-uh. I even have a couple of band-uh CDs that my kids loved listening to. This is such a shame - are we sure this is the end of the story? No appeals process?
  • Bad press for the Band-Uh!
To clarify, I'm upset with the band stuff, not that faculty-student fraternization is banned. I think that's a sound policy.
  • Bad press for the Band-Uh!
As much as I am upset by this, I think faculty being romantically involved with students has been banned for some time. See, e.g., https://www.ucop.edu/academic-personnel-programs/_files/apm/apm-015.pdf. Nevertheless, I can't see how that extends to members of an alumni group.
  • Bad press for the Band-Uh!
Man - what a gut punch for alumni band members. I know a lot of alumni band members - such an enthusiastic group. I wonder how many of them were big donors - going to be difficult to convince them to open their wallets in the future. It's pretty raw right now; maybe it all works out for the best down the road, but this feels like it will make game day and campus life a bit more sterile...
  • Bad press for the Band-Uh!
That's a damn shame. A real living part of campus history is now gone. That said, I have literally no idea how marching bands at the big-time programs are managed. Were we an outlier with our "student run" approach? I had thought the band-uh wasn't student run for the past several years (which made them less interesting IMO).
  • Keelan Doss: Raider Watch
I love our chancellor. I’m not sure the chancellor knew we had a football team when I was at Davis.
  • Keelan Doss: Raider Watch
Dammit. It’s the Hard Knocks curse...
  • Aggies vs Bears
@AggieFinn where? I’m driving my big-ass Dodge... the Ags are a comin’ to town!
