I wasn't implying that it would be an easy game by any means or that we should take them lightly. I believe they are a better team than Poly right now, but I don't think they are in the top tier of the Big Sky. I believe that if both teams play to their best potential then we win the game, but you never know if a team will play to their best potential.

New STATS FCS poll has the Aggies sitting at 15 (previously 21). I don't quite understand EWU at 12 (previously 15) considering they didn't play a game this last weekend, but we can settle that score in a couple weeks.
  • Week 4: Idaho state at UC Davis
ISU got blown out by Weber and had a narrow win over Southern Utah so take that as you will. Massey giving the Aggies a 77% chance of winning the game. The EWU game seems to be the outlier in performance based on where I saw ISU to start the season. I figured they would be in the bottom half of the conference and losing big to Weber and a close game with Southern Utah falls in line with that.

They throw the ball a lot, but their QB's accuracy is only sitting around 55% and he has already thrown 5 picks over 3 games. Their defense additionally looks suspect as they've given up 40 points in 2/3 of their games, so hopefully we can keep the offense rolling. The Aggies SHOULD win this game, but there's a reason why you actually have to play the game to determine the winner.
  • Week 3: Cal Poly @ #21 UC Davis
I think our competitiveness with Weber probably indicates a combination of both. I think we are decently good and Cal Poly is pretty dang bad.
  • Week 3: Cal Poly @ #21 UC Davis
Neither Hamler or Raquet are a long term solution for Poly in my honest opinion. That being said, I think one of their biggest problems on offense is the line. Our defense was in on both quarterbacks consistently. Tough to get any kind of pass game going when you're always on your heels. They allowed 7 sacks versus SUU as well... 16 over 2 games.

The kid's politics doesn't have anything to do with what happens on the field. You can focus on it if you want, but it seems unnecessary to bring it up.

This is the list of longest runs in UC Davis history. I am not familiar with the players from the 1940s and 1950s so I don't know their positions, but safe to say it was certainly one of if not the longest by a QB.

Tompkins 86 yard TD scramble makes the Sports Center Top 10

  • Week 3: Cal Poly @ #21 UC Davis
I think Baldwin switching to Raquet was the correct move to make but far too late. I'm curious as to what exactly happened to the Poly defense though. I don't remember it being that much of an issue over the last several seasons.
  • Week 3: Cal Poly @ #21 UC Davis
Wow. This is still an incredible game to think about. Shot ourselves in the foot a couple times... Just mistakes we can't have against better opponents, but cool to see 3 different QBs score and Faulk reeeeeeally wanted to be a 4th. Without mistakes potentially an 80 point performance. The thing about it is that we were being merciful too but good luck telling Tompkins to slide on a run like that
  • Week 3: Cal Poly @ #21 UC Davis
Raquet certainly looked better than Hamler, but he was mainly playing against reserves. Our depth offense continued to shred the Mustang defense. Dan might be right when he said this could be the best team top to bottom in Aggie history.

It's true that what he inherited is far from his vision, but the mountain to climb going forward is huge. It takes some results to really improve the recruiting.

Agreed, Hawk needs to give Tompkins some throwing reps. Awesome to see him put some points up though.

What a bonehead move by that CP player. Not that 3 or 7 really matter at this point, but single handedly moved them out of scoring position.
