Also with the Tompkins commitment that make four 3 star athletes committed. Stars honestly don't mean a whole lot in terms of predicted success until you get up to guys with 4 and 5 stars, but it still means that we are landing higher profile athletes than we were previously. I think we will get some more commitments from 3 star athletes before this is all said and done. Looks like a very promising class so far, just need them to sign on the dotted line on the 19th.

Kids these days are coming out of high school more and more ready to compete. One example, QB Brock Purdy who the Aggies had an offer out on last year. He ended up picking FBS Iowa State, won the starting job as a freshman, and got the Cyclones and overall record of 8-4.

Well that was one man's opinion I suppose. I remember being excited and from what remember he had the skill, but 0 motivation or drive to back it up.

I don't specifically remember Laughrea being compared to O'Brien. I remember people being excited about getting a transfer from a strong FBS school. I think you all are misunderstanding what I am saying in regards to Tompkins. I'm just saying that he has a strong skill set and I personally believe will be a great asset to the Aggies in the future. And Hawkins will be the first person to tell you that no one just deserves a starting spot, that goes for any position on the roster not just QB.

Always compete. Jake will have to earn it just like any other player (I wholeheartedly believe he will be the starter though)

Definitely. I think it is very likely Jake is still the starter for next season, but looking at Tompkins and his skill set he very well could be a 4 year starter after Jake is done. That being said, you never quite know when a player's skill set will carry over to the next level. He looks like an incredible talent for this team though.

I'm not going to lie, I've always thought bowl games were kind of silly. There are so many of them that teams with REALLY mediocre records end up playing in them. Playoffs are exciting as hell and gives underdogs a chance to really prove what they can do.

I think another guy we should be keeping our eye on is 3 star LB Jhasi Wilson. He has a bunch of offers, but he's really only retweeting and liking stuff related to UC Davis football, not so much other programs.

Well he absolutely DESTROYED his league. 4500+ passing yards, 65% completions, 60 touchdowns, only 3 interceptions, almost 1000 yards rushing... the kid did it all in high school. Just sounds like he was severely under recruited. When college recruiters are saying he's a potential 5 star guy if he was a couple inches taller... yeah I'll take that type of talent here any day. Jake is proving it now that you don't need to be the biggest guy to be successful.

Just heard through some Facebook friends that it sounds like the Band-uh! is going to try to make it up to Eastern Washington, but it depends on funding. If I can find anything more specific if they are taking donations to get the kids up there I will post it here.

We already have 9 commitments, but we'll see what happens at the early signing day later this month. Some of the commits looks like serious studs and I have some ideas of other recruits I think we are in the running for. Looking like another strong class though.

No matter what happens in this game I want everyone to remember this...

Yeah NDSU and SDSU should win fairly easily IMHO. Weber and Maine could be a very good game. Hoping for a closer game with EWU than last time.
