Berkeley, UCLA and Davis have absolutely spent tens of millions on ICA. What Sac is doing here is different. They are redirecting university funds to a third party that is contracting with football and basketball players.

CSUS is funding NIL with the president’s discretionary budget. It’s not clear that the CSU System actually knows this is happening.

Doesn’t matter much who is on staff with the level of resources available. Agree that Les is not the guy to lead any sort of initiative to put the program on strong financial footing but moving on right now would cost lots of dough. Would be better to put that money into the roster in order to help attract some decent candidates next cycle. Of course this will never happen.

Yes. And no money for a roster. This is a total mess.

Inside linebacker doesn’t need more size than those two guys but whoever takes the two spots needs to improve in the run game. Look back historically, many of the best inside linebackers the program has had (Sindell, Spraker, Valaau, Elbanna, Meyer) weren’t huge dudes, but they all had great instincts and tackled well.

Santa Barbara and UCSD are leaving because Davis is out. WCC + Big Sky Football would have been a good outlet for Davis also. Poly may land there. The Big West being forced to admit Bakersfield and unable to control themselves with UH really killed the conference.

Those teams didn’t have the benefit of OTAs. Practice basically starts two weeks after the season concludes these days.

Some programs kicked the tires because of his brother and the potential pipeline but nobody really offered. I think this is a mutual parting of the ways.

Line play overall last year was not great but the snaps were atrocious. Seemed like every third down was a ground ball or an off target missile. Sounds like a post spring portal grad transfer is needed.

Carrillo played a lot 3 years ago. Need more than those two at edge and that may be where Garrettson could slot in but he’s another one that’s battled injuries. On the other side they need more consistency out of Sam and he’s got to be able to play the run game. Madruga has played quite a bit of football also. Ray and Sackinsky played late in the year with everyone hurt and did not appear to be rotational guys but that can change with a full offseason program.

Those two are Will types. Maybe Sievers can grow into it but I wouldn’t put Conners at the Mike.

At minimum there will be new starters at Mike, DE, nickel, and box safety.

No question. This is a big and physical returning group of DL that should help out the second level guys.

There are a number of guys still in recovery mode. On D really need to find a couple of edge types that can rush the passer without being total liabilities in the run game.

There are only three qbs on the public version of the spring roster. The spring game is really more of a practice with some situational stuff these days. Everyone gets reps

Starting that program in the first place was a big blunder. Someone over there deserves credit for the picnic day spring game plan.

This is some of the worst basketball I have ever seen.
