SJSU is far and away the worst venue in the conference. The rest are 8-12k except Vegas and New Mexico.

Campus Rec and Facilities have really butchered the place and ICA doesn’t have the leadership to take them to task. They have had multiple chances to get the seating right since the days of the wood bleachers but can’t get out of their own way. The building itself makes for a perfectly fine 6,500 seat venue if they would just put in the telescoping seats and a central score and video board. The lower level seating is way too far from the action and the wine and merch station is an atmosphere killer. Of course, fixing the joint would mean getting rid of that horrible overhead dividing net and that may be a bridge too far.

It’s not poaching when you bring in a bunch of players that have been cut from or kicked off their previous team. At least Santi Hall was on the roster for Causeway, most of these guys will not.

Totally agree with you on skill set but Gale was never really an in-line TE. He’s a big slot and that should have been a valuable role considering the lack of speed outside and the size of the inside receivers. It was 10 vs 11 the first half of the year with Williams plugged in to that H spot.

That’s a good landing spot. Make a few bucks, get some free grad school and have a legit shot at pt.

The MWC teams have some money allocated to NIL. Davis will need to figure out if it wants to be in the business of paying players. If it does not, moving up will be a colossal failure. Recruiting these days has almost nothing to do with the school, the coach or anything else. It comes down entirely to the best financial offer.

New staffs come in and cut guys immediately. Even happening with hs players that just set foot on campus.

Roice Cleeland transferring in from UW where he was a walk-on guard. One of Cam’s kids. Prepped at Portland-Jesuit. Should have 3 years of eligibility.

That is a Pollyanna view of lower division athletics. You brought up Wise earlier. See the irony?

Nobody is debating that the NFL will find NFL talent. Most guys are not NFL talent. The roster spot alone in the SEC pays 100k, compared to 0 at the lower levels. Most guys do and probably should take that bag of cash.

Because you get paid in that pond and those Aggie names were 100 years ago. Surprised Bains hasn’t found higher level interest as an experienced depth piece.

No question. I think with Williams his versatility looks great in shells at 3/4 speed but it never really translates to game day and he’s not an H. Simpson is a different story that dude can play.

This is a pile of malcontents and guys that were cut and have no options. You don’t want those.

Williams usage was one of the staff’s personnel blind spots IMO.

You deserve a medal. Or at least courtside seats.

Those are now the seats at the tennis complex. Wouldn’t fit behind berms at new stadium anyway.

Two best outside rushers in the last ten years were Mason Moe on Hawk’s best team and Cam Trimble a couple years later. Bryce Rogers was a good interior pass rusher. It has probably been 20 years since there was a traditional edge that could consistently get pressure.

The two ahead of him aren’t 6’3. This team had some major flaws. They exceeded expectations.
  • Looking forward to 2025

Probably should have pinned this at top of the board months ago!
