• Aggie Ascent - Facilities Master Plan Release
When we move to FBS I see our capacity at 22k with one grass berm in front of expanded video board, then later add additional suites/premium seats next to and above bob foster team center. This will leave us space to expand to 25k in future if ever necessary by filling in other grass berm. 30k will never happen and isn’t necessary in modern college football in CA. 22-25k with more luxury/premium seats is the way to go!
  • Sac State's bid for the Pac 12 Thread
it was already previously announced that the students would pay at least half of the 5 mil NCAA transfer fee and sac only has to pay 6 mil in year 1 to MAC and then 3 mil a year for the next 4 years. Dr wood and Orr later specified that student fee earmarked for academics wouldn’t be used but that implies that student fees earmarked for athletics could/would be used.
  • Sac State's bid for the Pac 12 Thread
truthfully a majority of us want sac state to succeed. We just worry that dr wood is gambling the schools future for his ego and are especially concerned when he pushes out crazy false revenue possibilities and no real plan of how he will fund everything rather than those crazy projections. Even in later interviews he and Orr are specific in their wording in saying they no student fees that are earmarked for academics will be used. Hidden implications that fees for athletics can/will be used for their MAC movement. Which is fine but don’t try to act like students aren’t helping fund the move.
  • Sac State's bid for the Pac 12 Thread
Sounds like his future plan is to wait 5 years to become a FBS independent and schedule 6-7 away games to get $. He literally wants to be the Lincoln college football team in FBS.
  • UC Davis Athletics Joining Mountain West - Football to Follow
I think that was a city thing in Davis on not allowing digital billboards. Even if true. Perhaps setting one up in Dixon at Dixon/davis border?
  • UC Davis Athletics Joining Mountain West - Football to Follow
I agree. We now have a small 3-4 year window to win a championship before with probably move up to FBS/mountain west. Our path did get slightly easier w/o NDSU.
  • UC Davis Athletics Joining Mountain West - Football to Follow
truthfully not for SJSU but yes for New Mexico, UNLV, Nevada -Reno, Air Force, and even Hawaii (football). Plus we will likely play more Top tier OOC games rather than our yearly single FBS game.
  • UC Davis Athletics Joining Mountain West - Football to Follow
Most of my alumni friends and work colleagues view Davis as D2 in football but all began to get interested the previous few months since they thought football was also moving to “real D1”s/mountain west conference but were disappointed when I told them that was for all sports except football. I feel like we will get a lot more attention and donors once we move up but agree that we gotta walk before we run. So I am hoping we break ground on phase 1 of stadium expansion asap and the. Add the additional seats in 2028 so that we move up by 2030.
  • UC Davis Athletics Joining Mountain West - Football to Follow
I can see NDSU joining in 2027 and us joining in 2029 or 2030.
  • MBB UC Davis (12-9, 5-5) at Cal State Bakersfield (8-14, 2-8) Saturday Jan. 31, 6:30 pm, on ESPN+
I’m not a fan how coach Les talks/yells at the players sometimes. We are up and about to win with final seconds left and he was still fuming and swearing.
It seems like the players were zoning out when he acts that way.
I get he is passionate and wants to win but I am not of big fan of that kind of behavior.

You may have seen them at games.
  • UC Davis Athletics Joining Mountain West - Football to Follow
truthfully we don’t have to have 500 people give $1000, I am fine with just 100-200 giving $1000-$1,500 but what I want is 5,000-7,000 alumni giving $200-$300 a year which is much more! Going to FBS can accomplish this. Already many of my colleagues are more interested in UCD Athletics just because we are moving to Mountain West and playing schools they know and respect.
  • Lincoln University suspends football programs.....
There goes sac state possible 6th game in 2026.
  • UC Davis Athletics Joining Mountain West - Football to Follow
The thing is, will FCS still be fine without the dakotas and montanas if they move up?
Also truthfully I see a change in FBS within 2030-2032 where the P4 will likely make a change and I can see a new G6 playoffs.
I personally would love to be FBS within the mountain west and play New Mexico, Nevada-Reno, UNLV(if they stay), San Jose state, and possibly rumored new members NDSU and Tarleton state every year.
  • Sac State's bid for the Pac 12 Thread
why would they want someone who can help raise funds? I thought sac was flushed with cash and had millions of NIL money. lol.
  • Aggie Ascent - Facilities Master Plan Release
they said that the football stadium is part of the 1st phase of Aggie ascent. So I would guess maybe start next offseason
  • Aggie Ascent - Facilities Master Plan Release
perhaps they can keep the main broadcast cameras on the roof of the visitor side concession stands and keep one camera on home side for occasional shots of Aggie pack and water tower.

In addition to phase 1 of Aggie ascent stadium upgrade. One easier upgrade that can be done quickly to our stadium is to replace the bench style seating with more individual seats throughout the stadium, and to make them different shades of blue like PayPal park in San Jose. This also gives the illusion that more people are there even if it isn’t fully sold out. I also would like some cameras on the visitor side since lately the home side has been much fuller and not seen on TV. People are always surprised by my pics of the home side crowd since they see all the empty seats on the visitor side on TV.
Many of my medical professionals/colleagues/alums would only come if they get individual seats (comfort and getting a premium feel is important to many fans now)

no clue. But I know there will be many who will want a suite. Even my wife, who isn’t a huge football fan said she would definitely go if we can get a suite.
