I see the pros and cons of both approaches. I feel like the best would be a little of both. I feel sac goes way overboard and exaggerates everything which makes real ADs and commissioners who know their true numbers question them more but makes the causal observer believe them. While UCD does the work quietly and working with the conferences/ADs/commissioners while leaving us in the dark. I feel like UCD can greatly benefit from having a Dr Wood “lite” person to put us out there since truthfully I feel we have greater potential
/promise while sac/Dr wood would beefier from toning theirs down a bit, and be taken more seriously from the higher ups.

That other 2.5 million figure was in regards of the Sacramento State's Associated Students Incorporated (ASI) voted to just have the discussion about approving a 2.5million loan to pay towards the 5 million FBS application. This was also another huge propaganda tool where they were spreading lies how it was already approved to get the loan/money but it was just approved to just “discuss” the possibility of approving a loan.

I said the same thing about meeting in the hotel breakfast lobby on X, they sure are hyping every little thing up to the max. They literally just admitted after finally being pressured by local press that the previous stadium renderings were just “guidelines” and what they want and not actual plans for the stadium. How they will build in phases with the 1st phase being just 2.5 million and mostly being bathrooms and some seats in endzone added. When asked about if the total would be near the cost of SD state stadium they responded with no, and admitted that it will be less and how they would have to live within their means. So again they are just hyping every little thing to fool non northern CA/sac area fans who believe everything and treat sac state like they are the next USC/UCLA in Ca, which is hilarious. I mean they are a good state school but come on.
I also wondered how sac state is funding the president’s little field trips to accomplish these things when they in such a deficit. Viewing stadiums of similar size can easily be done for free online with videos/pics/renderings/zoom. Such a waste of time/money especially when visiting sites that cost way more than their “dream” budget allows so again a waste and big propaganda tool

That is sad we couldn’t round up people for that. We gotta start using more social media and AI to grab locals in the Davis/woodland/dixon/sac region, we need to advertise more in the Dorms and DCs and have groups rounding up students and matching from each dorm area to the stadium and do more give aways.
I think each home game we should bring 1-2 local high school football team and their family from the region and bus them to games to increase awareness and build more fans for individuals who aren't students/alumni (ex: one week bring woodland high, Davis high, Dixon, Elk Grove, sac, etc)
We need to increase our presence in the region and build our brand more from the bottom up.

Seems like we are quietly raising our funds with a plan to go up to FBS within 3- 4 years. Supposedly we have an unspoken deal that we will eventually move up but are not rushing. Even in our current state we made a small profit which most schools cannot say. We aren’t desperate like sac state who see the writing on the wall that their athletic dept is hemorrhaging money and their university is also in a huge deficit (many CSUs in same boat). They know they must push to PAC to make some money and increase awareness with hopes of driving up the “out of state” and overall admissions for the school, thus helping the school as a whole. Sac state has a better PR team who hype up every little thing with overblown promises where non northern CA fans eat up not knowing the actual truth, while UCD works in the background quietly. Which is frustrating sometimes, I wish we had a larger PR team and social media presence for our athletic dept.
But when many ADs/commissioners looked at the actual “money”-books/facilities/history they see us as the better option. This is how we got the MWC in the first place. They see our potential as representing the sac/northern CA region. Being a more prestigious university, one of the largest and top ranked health system and hospital in sac area, and our med school/other campuses in sac, and not being a “commuter” school.
