I was talking with a fellow from SoCal many years ago and we were discussing the amazing size and geographical diversity of California. At some point, he said he thought the state was too big and therefore too difficult to govern because of how different northern and southern California were in his opinion.

He went on to say that we really should have two states: Northern and Southern California. Then he asked me, hypothetically, where I would draw the dividing line and I said, "Well maybe just north or south of Fresno. So I asked him where he would divide the state and he said, "Just north of Santa Barbara."

That kind of surprised me and I asked him why and he said, "Because the carpet ends end just north of Santa Barbara and the linoleum begins!" Needless to say that cracked me up!!

I think that's a good summary regarding the BW vs MWC for MB and WBB. In addition to what you have stated if we joined the MWC, our out-of-conference scheduling would be easier since we would have the BW teams to choose from along with the WCC teams. Scheduling some of those teams for OOC games plus the regular MWC games would make for a sizable step up in our overall competition which would probably increase interest and attendance.

EWU is making their case for #1 for sure. Their offense is putting up crazy numbers.

I'm surprised they aren't requiring proof of vaccination. We've had 10,000 plus at all of our home games so far even though we require proof of vaccination. It's a much safer policy for everyone than a mask only requirement.

As you said, it certainly could be that the coaches have made good adjustments that are working better by the 4th quarter and it could also be indicative that we are a well conditioned team. The problem is that, if it takes us 3 quarters to get rolling against a team like EWU, we'll be down 40 points by then.
