In the post-game radio interview Les said that Neufeld is "ailing" and they hope he gets healthy this week. He credited the whole team for being locked in on defense and praised the toughness and play of TJ and AJ. Lastly, he said, "It's going to be a long, happy bus ride home."

That NBA 3 by Mooney with the score tied late was an ice cold dagger. Gutsy long range bomb. Good for Joe!

Best win of the season by far! Awesome defense by the Aggies. I love that even when they miss a open layup they hustle back on defense and lock down. No hanging their heads and taking a play off...just hard nosed defense.

We ended up shooting 52% in spite of the very slow start and held UCSB to 39%. We can win this game if we continue to play defense like that for another 20 minutes.

John has been in for a few minutes. Not sure what's up with Neufeld. Les is playing lots of different combos of players. Our defense has been great but the height of the Gauchos is making it tough for us on the defensive boards.

The Aggies were like a firestorm in the first 4 minutes of the 3rd quarter. They hit their first seven 3's and went on a 24-2 run to blow the game wide open. The Ags hit 15-30 from 3 today and that pretty much slammed the door on Poly.

71-46 Ags after 3. They blitzed the Mustangs 30-11 in the 3rd quarter.

The Ags are on a tear to start the second half with a 19-2 run in the first 4 minutes of the 3rd and now lead 60-37. Ags are 5 of 5 from 3 and Bessolo hit 3 of those.

41-35 Ags at the half. Poly is playing really tough and shooting 48.4%. The Aggie defense needs to stiffen up in the second half.

Breed said going from the big city to a small town was a “culture shift,” but “it was really kind of cool the friends and relationships that were developed. It all came together (for me) because of sports: Everything was about going to the game or hanging out after the game … enjoying the game.”

I asked Her Honor if she would lose her Cal- or Stanford-educated constituency because of the UC Davis Football Day declaration…

“No. No. You know what, I’d do it all over again. They’ll just have to get in line.”

UC Davis graduates 15 seniors from what remains a relatively young squad.

“I totally believe this,” Hawkins added. “We could start playing today, without any of these new guys, we’d still be pretty good. We return a lot of really good football players. Talent, experience and depth. Multiply that by our leadership and culture. And that is off the charts right now.”

Were they on the bench? If they weren't, I'd suspect they might be sick or injured...??

It seems to be working so I think we'll continue to see him start that lineup.

We're getting consistent contributions from Mooney and Neufeld now and that is really helping this team. Our defense was playing well for most of the game tonight. Saturday at UCSB will be a tough one.
