WBB: 2018 WNIT Tournament That's an excellent point, Obda. WBB needs all the help it can get. It's growing in interest but there's very little parity since just a few of the big schools grab all the very top players. There's an enormous gap between the few elite teams and the rest of the D1 field and, if the sport is to grow, we definitely need more interest and participation by young girls so the sport can grow just like soccer has grown.
BTW, I lost a some respect for Geno Auriemma when his team beat St Francis 140-52 in the first round of the NCAA Tournament. After they scored 55 points in the first quarter and led 55-19 and were up 94-31 at the half. The game was over and their starters should never have seen the court again but he let them play into the opening minutes of the 3rd quarter. That was bush league in my book.
