I wonder too. Transfers in Div 1 basketball are alarmingly common but Mikey's struck me as particularly odd. Started the year pretty fast, playing time waned, then flashes of studliness mixed with flashes of freshman-ness.

Incoming freshman Strom may have influenced...AJ John's likely significant PT may have played a role...

Anyone have any insider intel?

Interesting given there should be more PT available. But doesn't Coach Les have a history of high player turnover, especially with Bigs? Do we know how our turnover rate under Les compares to the NCAA average, UCSB, UCI?

With our recent success recruiting should be easier.

According to my research there are about 425 players (give or take) that are in some flux with regard to an announced transfer. Only 99 of which have announced a new school.

I did read that LBSU is losing sophomore SG Noah Blackwell (a local product) and senior PG Justin Bibbins and sophomore PG Loren Jackson AND Roshon Prince. 4 contributors. CSUN is losing Kendall Smith. Hawaii lost 2 guys. Cal Poly lost a dude. No defections from UCSB, UCI or UCR, but it's still very early.

The transfer list has kids from all sizes and shapes of Universities and Colleges. The Big 10, The Ivies, Pac-12, powerhouse basketball schools like Kansas, etc. It's very very common. I don't know about how we compare on average but I'd imagine that we are below average when you consider a 5-10 year sample.

I'm sorry to see Mikey go. Same goes for Peter Hewitt. I wish them both well.

I know this is more common today. But we are a UC and should compare to UCI and UCSB. Is this the third time Les has had a large out flux?

A big number of college hoop players think they will play in the NBA, when the reality is spots are limited. I also liked the article, though the college coaches appeared to be exaggerating, I Don't believe a large number of high school players play at 3 or 4 high schools.

Mikey Henn will be transferring to Cal Baptist. The Lancers are an up and coming DII program located in Riverside, CA, and play in the PacWest Conference. They have a very young roster, are coming off a 26-5 season and have transfers coming in from Portland and Santa Clara this year also. It has been rumored that they are interested in moving to D1 at some point and that they have interest in the Big West but the Big West has not shown any recent interest in expanding.

I expect that he will do very well at Cal Baptist and wish him good luck. Aggie fans are sorry to see him go.

Huge change from mid-level DI to DII. Something soured him on DI hoops.

Being the big fish in a smaller pond has it's perks.

He'll be playing DI basketball again in 2018. CBU will be competing in the WAC starting at the 2018-19 season. Only downfall is the Lancers are ineligible for post-season play until 2022-2023 season. Luckily for him, he at least has one DI conference title and an NCAA DI Tournament win on his resume and we all know where he got it from :P

Looks like he's looking for other options.

Henn had announced that he would play at Cal Baptist but then he reportedly reopened his recruitment. He still lists himself as a Cal Baptist player on his twitter account so he may end up playing there after all.
