Jake Maier, an Aggie Legend!!!!

Jake was traded to the Saskatchewan Roughriders during the off season. He is competing for a position as a backup quarterback.

i was a bit surprised he was traded for such a low draft pick (8th round). I knew his stock dropped last year in Calgary, but not that far.

I guess Miles Hastings decided not to give it a go up in Canada. I saw this article:

To be fair though, the current starting QB is 39 years old (and a future CFL hall of famer, it looks like). Jake may be seen as a replacement when he retires in a season or two? QB3 is some 4th year scrub from Penn State….he's never started a game and coincidentally backed up Jake in Calgary.
