The Gauchos, currently 4th in the Big West come to town for a key early conference matchup with the 2nd place Aggies. UCSB has the second best offense in the conference at 73 ppg, and third best defense, allowing opponents just 60 a game. Zoe Borter (15.6), Olivia Bradley (13.2), and Zoe Shaw (10.2) lead the Gaucho offense. Bradley is also UCSB’s leading rebounder (6.1), while Skylar Burke adds 4.8 rpg.

The Ags balanced attack is led by Ryann Bennett at 17.2 ppg, following by Nya Epps (13.1), Megan Norris (11.9), and Avery Sussex (11.3). Norris’ 11 rpg leads the conference, with Tegan Young getting 4.2 boards a contest . Davis is averaging 71 ppg, and holds opponents to 63.

Davis has to be on their game from the opening tip against Santa Barbara. Head coach Renee Jimenez has built a formidable program in her two years leading the Gauchos. Davis will need 4 solid quarters, with consistent play from both starters and the bench to take down UCSB.

Rough shooting night! 15% from 3; 29% from the field. Looks like everyone has lost confidence in their shot. And we miss soooo many layups. It’s an issue my wife and I scratch our heads over every year. Do we not practice layups? That alone cost us the game tonight.

Just really choppy play, no flow on offense. Norris doubled or tripled in the post every touch…they were grabbing at the ball, but Megan was getting called for offensive fouls. While knockdowns of Bennet and Baker not called. Monster night rebounding.

Australian Anna Bassett, a member of the Aggies' 2026 recruiting class, was on the bench last night dressed like the players currently out with injuries. I wonder if she's just making a visit, or if she'd en early enrollee? If she's enrolled, she can practice with the team, which would put her ahead come next season.

I wonder if there's any chance that fellow Aussie 2026 recruit, Rebecca Donnelly, might join her?
