    It’s another must win as UC Davis has fallen into a tie with CSU Fullerton for fifth seed. I would like to say that the Aggies will win this one given that UCR has lost seven of their last nine games , but both wins came at home and we just saw what the Titans did to us. The Highlanders are still led by #12 Andrew Henderson who is now averaging 17.6 ppg. fourth in the conference. He and Marqui Worthy Jr. (15.7 ppg) combined for 34 against the Ags in their loss up at Davis. With only four games left in the season and Cal Poly upsetting Hawai`i, one more loss by Riverside will eliminate them from the tournament, so they will be in desperation mode and seeking their first two game winning streak since November. The Aggies can’t let this one slip away.

    2.5 point favorites, something like 57% chance of winning. This is critical else we’re looking at another extended losing streak to finish a season. I thought UCR was the weakest team I’ve seen us play. 40 minutes of defense!!

    2:00 PM: UC Davis at UC Riverside — The Aggies (16-11, 9-7) missed a chance to move into a top 4 spot in the Big West, blowing a 16-point halftime lead in a heartbreaking loss at Cal State Fullerton. Nils Cooper ended a 5-game single-digit scoring streak with 26 points. UC Davis finishes its final Big West season with 3 out of 4 on the road, but 2 of those away tilts are at teams currently out of the Big West Tournament field (UCR, Long Beach State). The Highlanders (9-19, 4-12) have been a tough out lately, having lost 5 games since Jan. 24 by 8 points or less. UC Riverside took out its frustration on CSU Bakersfield Thursday night in a dominant 93-65 victory. Andrew Henderson is averaging 17.8 points per game for Riverside.

    Both teams are 100% from the free throw line and over half the points so far (17of 33) have been from the charity stripe. Maybe the refs should swallow their whistles for awhile.
