The Aggies travel to the Sunshine State for two tough road games. First up is a game against the Knights of Central Florida at the 10,000 seat CFE Arena in Orlando. Tip off is set for 4 pm Pacific time. Then on Thursday the Ags travel north to Jacksonville to play the Dolphins who are currently 9-3 with a game against Auburn before the Aggies arrive. These two games will be big challenges for the Aggies and are a great opportunity for them to continue to grow and get better.

The Knights appear to be as good as anyone the Ags have faced yet this year. They have size, quickness and athleticism and have only lost to Virginia Tech by 3 points and Buffalo by 1 point. They feature a suffocating defense that allows only 50.3 ppg and is ranked 6th in the nation. They combine their stellar defense with tons of athleticism with quick hands and they average 13.8 steals per game which is the 4th best in the country.

Needless to say, the Aggies will need to play their A game against the Knights and they are capable of doing that. The Ags are coming off two very good performances against Sac State and USF and they will need to do more of the same against the Knights to have a chance for the win. However, UCF, like Stanford and Oregon State, have depth and are solid in all aspects of the game and the Aggies did not play well against the Cardinal or the Beavers. It will be imperative that the Ags play smart, handle the pressure and protect the ball, block out and rebound, and shoot a decent percentage. They can not dig themselves an early hole and expect to overcome a big lead against a team like UCF.

Hopefully, Rachel Nagel will be healed up from her injury suffered in the USF game. If not, Sofia Song will be counted on to help fill in for her loss.

The Ags are playing UCF tough and lead 16-13 after the first quarter. We are handling the Knights' pressure pretty well so far. It appears that Rachel Nagel is still out with an injury.

The Aggies are showing that they can play with the Knights and take 6 point lead into the half 34-28. The Ags are shooting 50% to UCF's 35.5% and are keeping pace with the athletic Knights on the boards with UCF having a 20-19 edge. So far this is an impressive showing by the Aggies against a very good team.

Fouls could come into play as the Ags got whistled for 10 fouls to only 4 for UCF. Four Aggies have 2 fouls each.

Today's win over USF is one of the best wins in history for the Aggies. The Knights had only lost to two undefeated D1 teams, #17 Virginia Tech (12-0) and Buffalo (10-0), and those two loses were by a combined 4 points total.

The Knights are athletic and talented and featured the 6th best defense in the nation and ranked 4th in steals. But, the Aggies put up 77 points on them which is 26.7 points more than the Knights have allowed on average per game (50.3 ppg). The Ags shot 52.5% and held the Knights to 38.7% for the game. Most significantly, the Aggies were only out rebounded by one board 40-39. This is an area that they have struggled in most of the season so they have done a great job of shoring up that problem.

Morgan Bertsch led the Aggies with 20 and Pele Gianotti had 15 and Sofia Song 12.

This is a very impressive win by the Ags and shows that Jen Gross has this program on the fast track to becoming very good in D1 basketball.

    Good job Ags!

I think they can be grouped with our best ever teams. They're young and have matured a lot as the season has progressed this year. If they continue to grow and avoid injuries, they have the potential to be very, very good and should be in the battle for the Big West title. Next year could be scary good!

I have been impressed with how they have addressed the serious problem they have had with rebounding. They have been holding their own on the boards in the past few games and are clearly playing more physically around the basket. When they are ticking on all cylinders they have great ball movement and are finding cutters open under the basket with precise passes. They handle pressure well and have players that can get hot from 3 and, really, are just playing well in all aspects of the game.

I hope Aggie fans will get out to Pavilion and support this team. They're fun to watch.
