We've been commenting on the women's soccer in the men's soccer thread but it's past time for this impressive team to have their own discussion topic. The Aggies are currently 7-2 overall and are riding a 4 game winning streak. Here's how they've done so far:

    8/15 - Aggies 2 Sac State 0
    8/18 - Loyola Marymount 3 Aggies 2
    8/22 - Aggies 2 San Jose State 1
    8/25 - Aggies 3 Pacific 0
    9/1 - Santa Clara 2 Aggies 0
    9/5 - Aggies 3 Eastern Washington 2
    9/8 - Aggies 3 New Mexico State 1
    9/12 - Aggies 3 Utah Valley 0
    9/15 - Aggies 4 Louisiana State 3

The Ags start conference play next Thursday 9/19 at Hawai'i at 10 pm PT.

Might be the biggest win in UC Davis athletic history. LSU has a very good soccer team and the Aggies took them down. Congratulations to the lady Aggies soccer team!

Well, they followed it up with a loss to Hawaii last night. 10PM is too late for me, so i wasn't able to watch any of it.

That one hurts It's not the way you want to start conference play.

I just looked at the box score and it looks like it was one of those games where we lost even though, statistically, we out played them: 16 shots and 8 on goal to their 11 and 5, more corners 3-1 and fewer fouls 19-12 but one of the fouls resulted in a penalty kick goal that was the difference in the game. The Hawai'i keeper also had 7 saves. Soccer, more than most sports, is the kind of game where a team can dominate but still lose.

Rebounded with a 2-1 victory over Fullerton today. Men up tomorrow.

It sounds like it was a "spirited" contest with a Fullerton player getting a red card in the 81st minute. The Titans also had 19 fouls to the Aggies' 5 fouls.

Tempers flared in the final minutes, with Cal State Fullerton reduced to 10 players after three separate yellow cards were issued in the 82nd minute

Looks like we lost our women’s soccer coach. I kind of figured she’d be moving up at some point.

You always have to wonder if there are any players she might take with her. Coaches who leave for bigger programs often take players with them if they think they can compete at the higher level.
