The Vols are gearing up for next year. Castles will have competition, but it’s a great opportunity for him.
    I wish him the best.

  • Bee article on Sac State Coach Taylor and the prospects for him moving on.
Yup, Two more home games. Big Game this week. And then UCLA. Should be interesting.

Cal releases OC Musgrave and OLMcClure. As per Bear Insider.

CAL cannot afford to buy out Wilcox. Wilcox turned down Oregon and the Ducks seems satisfied with Lanning even with last night’s upset to the Huskies. I don’t see Taylor leaving Sac anytime soon. But who knows, if he wins the National Championship there will be teams calling. We are lucky to have Hawkins. A win next week and success in the playoffs would be program improvement for me.
  • Week 11: UC Davis (5-4) @ Idaho (6-3)
Didn’t know UC Irvine has a football team. I think the ref was just jealous that Magic does a better MJ than he could. Lol. We do need to be careful in the next game. Impacts of these penalties can be significant Especially when the game is so close.
  • Tough Hawkins Critique
Our son was a student sports med interrn at CAL his four years there. Fortunately it was during the Tedford years. When Pete Carrols USC team came to Memorial it was amazing seeing the size of their lineman and tight ends. The penetration off the snap was amazing. Poor CAL had no answers.
  • Tough Hawkins Critique
Give our “Boys in the Trenches” credit. They controlled both sides of the ball. Our OL made big holes for our RBs, kept Hastings safe and allowed him enough time to make his throws. Our DL stopped the Vandals running game and put constant pressure on their QB Gevani McCoy.

We will have a front seat experience next Saturday. Get to the game Aggies.
  • Week 5: UC Davis @ Montana State
    Good morning:

“When the going gets tough, just keep chopping wood.”
“Put a rock on the gas pedal.”
“We’ve got the oven preheated, right at the temperature we want, now let’s bake it up.”
“You gotta get out of your comfort zone a little bit in life. You gotta be willing to risk a little bit in life. If you really want the good stuff. You just can’t play it safe all the time.”
“To be the man, you gotta BEAT the man.”
“Every good thing trickles down to you.”

During Coach Hawkins first year at the helm, I purposely kept his quotes on my phone. I was in awe of what he was doing with Aggies Football. We need that enthusiasm again. Cmon coach, you got this.
  • Tim Plough
    Thanks CA Forever.
Movielover, Plough may or may not be available but it’s worth a try. At least an interim consultant for the season.

Totally agree. We were fortunate to have had Jake at the helm and Doss. I enjoyed Ploughs playcalling.
This year’s defense is impressive. The offense needs to step up.

    Thanks!
