I think they've brought it up a couple times, but I agree with you that everything regarding the offense is flat. Uninspired play calling, turnovers and poor decision making by HR, weird tactics (going for it on 4th from our own 30, but punting on the 50). HR only has 50 something yards through the air.

That being said it was a total surprise Gilliam being out. That definitely has some impact on the game plan.

I was expecting a better performance. Defense has still played decently well considering the field positions the offense has put them in. I think you have to really consider if HR stays out there in the 2nd half. He's made some reeeeeeally poor decisions and now has 2 turnovers.

I'm hoping for rust, not rest. Additionally they flew in via Allegiant so they definitely didn't have a comfortable trip, that's for sure.

New coaches poll has the Aggies at 19. The new AGS poll also dropped and has us at 14.

I do not envy the folks who have to submit real ballots for voting. Got to make a lot of tough calls when teams have different number of games played and really only playing within conference. That being said, I'm still not sure how EWU is ahead of Davis right now. Both teams are 2-1 and both teams have a blowout win. The major difference is that the one common opponent we've have (Idaho) we beat and they lost and our 1 loss was a 1 score game against a consensus top 3 team. Pretty much every poll has us behind Eastern though. Just got to beat them in a couple weeks.

I think it's especially tough to look at common opponents this season with everything going on in the world. Idaho had players out against us who played versus EWU, Poly had limited practice leading up to their Southern Utah game, etc. I would hate to be on the selection committee at the end of this season considering how all the conferences have played different numbers of games and with limited to no cross conference play.

They are definitely the most pass happy offense we've faced so far at the very least. I would probably argue that Weber has a better overall offense than Idaho State, but it will be a different test for sure facing a team that wants to throw the ball 40+ times per game. Rating systems aren't the be all and end all of football analysis and often lack nuance, but Massey rates Idaho State's offense similarly to Idaho's, but they have a worse defense. I agree with you that we can't have some of the mistakes that we had against Poly though. The most notable one was probably the first drive of the game when Hunter fumbled on the goal line. Just have to get rid of the ball in some of those situations.
