He does seem quick, but I worry about durability if he doesn't put on some muscle. His legs look like twigs. It will be nice to have a big on the roster though.

Nice! Hopefully he can put on some muscle between now and next season. He's listed as weighing only 215 which is pretty dang slender for someone who is 6'11.

Two 1k receivers certainly is a bold prediction considering we haven't had one since Keelan Doss. I think we could see one 1k receiver though with limited WR depth and the loss of our bell cow in Larison.

I hope that we start trying to target some legit big bodied WRs though if we do plan to make the move to the MW in the next handful of seasons. I'm not saying that every receiver has to be 6'4, but I still do think that there is something to having a guy that can create those size mismatches... especially if it opens up a speed demon to go uncovered deep.

It is a very speedy group, but another factor in listing those 3 guys specifically is that largest of them is Gbatu at 5'10 175. It is a TINY group, which isn't the be all and end all when it comes to receiving, but none of them will be huge physical mismatches for the defense like the Keelan Doss' of the football world.

Plough has landed his first commitment of the 2026 class! QB Jack Brant out of Boise, ID commits to the Ags just days after receiving his offer. He boasts a 4.1 GPA on his twitter profile and hudl highlights. His junior season he compiled 2,612 total yards (he's mobile) and 28 TDs. He picked the Aggies over an in-state offer to ISU. GO AGS!

I think the most obvious topic is the QB battle, but I think for myself personally my biggest question is how the receiving unit looked? We lost a HUGE amount of our production from last season with Larison, Hutton, Davis, Tompkins. We're returning Gbatu and Dobbins with the only new WR addition during spring being JUCO transfer LaDanian Streets. We have a bunch of freshmen coming in the fall, but still who is going to step up and replace that level of production?

I'll be interested to see if this actually means anything though. Coach Marion has never spent more than 2 seasons in any given job throughout his coaching career. Now, you could argue that this is his first D1 HC job so he may stay longer, but if he is wildly successful you can bet that bigger name programs will come knocking and if he leaves the recruiting network largely becomes meaningless.

I agree with this sentiment. Unless we are talking about a designed play for a specific QB then you shouldn't be playing multiple QBs. In addition to taking a QB out of their rhythm, you also have question marks about who is the leader of the offense.

New Sac Bee article on Caden Pinnick. It pretty much goes as far as to state that Pinnick is the intended starter.

Even if this the last Causeway Classic at least we can go out knowing that we owned the Hornets in the all-time series record :joke:

All jokes aside, I hope that this is not the last Causeway Classic and that there will be more meetings in the future. It's such an iconic rivalry and I hope that it's not tossed out the window.

I get where you are coming from, but if it's close then I hope they go with Pinnick. If he is successful in the role and has the chance to be a 3 or 4 year starter it would be good to get him playing time now. Especially if Plough thinks he has the ceiling to be a really special player. It sounds like he was trying to stifle excitement about Pinnick in the last posted presser.

Sounds like the QB battle is really just going to between Harper and Pinnick at this point. I know that they will pick the right guy for the job, but it would be cool to get a young guy out there and really give him play time to develop over the course of several seasons. No matter who they pick, it will be nice to have some QB mobility in play.
