Apparently he is our 2nd defensive commitment in the last 24 hours according to Coach Brady on twitter, haven't been able to find the other one yet.

Peacock notes the education available at UC Davis, the direction the program is heading, and the coaching staff as big reasons why he made his commitment so quickly after being offered.

DE Cade Peacock has COMMITTED to UC Davis! GO AGGIES!!!
  • Some new names on the roster
He must have had some issue with the new coaching staff? I don't know if he could have saved our run game this year, but I can almost guarantee that he would have gotten significant touches with his speed and agility. Oh well, nothing anyone can do about it now.

Watched some of his tape. He's shifty and despite his smaller stature isn't afraid to drive the net. The only other offer he had was from Portland State according to verbal commits.

I'm still laughing. It's honestly hilarious.
  • Week 11: Southern Utah Thunderbirds
I wouldn't hold your breath. The Aggies are definitely improved this season, but we've struggled against some of the stronger teams.

    lol what

I don't see why he couldn't get any better. In fact, I would hope that he would improve. After this season, as a sophomore, I wouldn't be surprised to see his name on preseason watch lists next year along with Doss. I love that Preece and Moore are developing nicely as well. Gives our passing game some depth as opposed to "we're just going to throw to Doss every single play".

It's crazy how much emphasis programs still put on QB height even though more and more atypical sized guys are having successful careers. Look at what they can do, not just if they meet some certain parameter size wise.
  • Week 11: Southern Utah Thunderbirds
There are the autobids and the rest is selected by committee as far as I know.

I don't think there is a real path for us to make the playoffs even if we do manage to win out. That doesn't mean that we shouldn't strive to get wins these last 2 weeks. A 7-4 season would be monumental for this program. It helps build a foundation for new recruits and promoting the program in general.

O'Brien was before my time so I can't say for sure. I'm just looking at the numbers and we are seeing something special passing wise this season. If Jake had 2 absolutely monster passing days to close out the season he could potentially break the all time single season passing record set by O'Sullivan. Jake would need just around 400 yards in each of the last 2 games. Coming in 2nd all time is a real possibility though.

Nice write up Finn! I don't predict an Aggie win in this one, but crazier things have happened before. We have to stop trying to make gimmick run plays work. Defenses have been sniffing it out for weeks now and it's just not working. Even ISU's suspect defense totally dominated against gimmick runs. It has become a detriment to the team to run those plays. Stick to the offense's identity and we might have a chance.

Doss only needs 3 receptions and 133 yards to break the individual records for a single season. With 2 games to go, Maier is already on the top 10 board for most passing yards in a season. He only needs 1 more passing TD to be on the top 10 board for that category as well. We have had the pleasure of watching one of the most dynamic passing offenses in UCD history this season and we have a rich history as a passing school.
