Is the field even playable today?

Yeah, I was going to say, there are some guys from the my father's era that donated in other ways, ie, the racks and weight stacks in the Edwards Family Athletic Center. May not show up as caSh, but having good, forever equipment was a huge donation for sure.

    How's Daniel's health?

DrMike, my Dad would say "f'n kickers" ha ha

Hunter seems like a character. He wasn't shy about all those field goals he nailed in Missoula last fall.

It takes a lot of people to steer a massive ship in a new direction.
I'd be stoked for a 2027 or 2028 jump, provided we have a plan...and money.

DrMike That is a big piece of news regarding retaining Nava and Simonson, they aren’t listed on the roster.

Big news indeed, and good news.

A night time Saturday spring game would be great for attendance. Maybe get lucky and score a baseball game over at Dobbins in the day or what not.

What's everybody's honest take on what year UC Davis Football first plays a FBS level schedule?

Sailer runs a strong camp - if he says Hughes has an elite leg, he does.
  • @ Mercer to Open 2025
Appears Davis will be the 'home' team for this one.
  • Looking forward to 2025
We're corrected, I distinctly remember that 2026 buzz that Davis was playing @ UNLV - but I guess that fell through.
  • Looking forward to 2025

Oh am I mixed up? Let me check that out.
  • Looking forward to 2025

    2025 starts like this:
    @ Mercer in Alabama
    @ Utah Tech
    @ Washington

2026 starts like this (will be confirmed):
    @ San Diego
    @ UNLV
    @ SMU

That's four money games in two years to start the year (what's the money deal with the Mercer game with ESPN, curious) - sounds like a ramp up to help pool the funds needed to jump to the Mountain West. Have to think that with a jump, an upgrade to the Stadium will be required. Need a bump to at least 25,000, with Utah State being the smallest capacity stadium in the Mountain West currently at just over 25k. THAT, to see it mildly is a massive jump in capacity, a massive overhaul project - and a massive leap of faith that we can get anywhere close to that many fans showing up to watch Davis play Wyoming.

Most of us can't help it, I know my Dad can't. His in game rants and comments are so legendary we made up a bunch of t-shirts for him last Christmas with the best football-isms to come out of his mouth: "HOLDING!" "LOBSTER CLAWS" and one of Sochor's favorites whenever a receiver dropped a pass in practice "ICE TONGS!"

We all yell because we care.

    Jayden Robinson Offered by:
    Ashland U
    Quincy U
    Mercyhurst U
    Morgan State

Not having Simonson to play his last year is a big blow to the OL. However, if it's Harper at QB (and that's not set in stone), the blind side is actually from the RT spot with Harper being a southpaw, where Nava...is....graduating? Maybe I read somewhere that said he could be coming back.
  • Looking forward to 2025

I think that's a promotion....coordinating one third of the game.

So that's 8 transfers signed in the last couple days?

Psyk was 1st Team All Ivy League last season. DE Impact rush type player.

Interesting we list Rutchena as LB, he's listed as TE on Cal's current roster.

Riddick is an Elk Grove kid, went to Sac City - was basically SEMO's starting safety last season, 87 tackles.

Josiah Allen also Elk Grover kid, went to Sac City - played in all 12 games for UTEP last season, had some impact plays in the backfield as well.

Porter, graduate transfer, 34 tackles last season, no sacks, listed as 6'-1", 280 lbs.

Batson recorded minimal statistics in 2024, had a significant injury in 2023 that he came back from. He will get every opportunity to be an impact player in Davis. Originally from San Clemente. Looks like we get his RS Senior season. Listed as 6'-4" and 206 lbs.
