  • 2025 MBB Recruiting and Transfers
Thanks, Mike, verbalcommits.com listed his hometown as Oakland so I just assumed that Daugherty HS was in Oakland. I'll edit my post.

Jalen Stokes is a 3 star 6'5 SG out of Daugherty HS in San Ramon. He also had offers from Montana, Missouri-Kansas City, and Texas-Rio Grande Valley.

Nice find, PA. I went ahead and started a new topic for 2025 MBB Recruiting and Transfers and added this tweet.

SAC12 would benefit from a spell check.

  • FCS Rankings
I edited my previous post about the FCS Coaches Poll. The Ags moved up 3 spots from #11 to #8 in their poll not from #9 to #6. We are now #6 in the Stats Perform Poll, however.
  • Aggie Pride: A UC Davis Football Podcast
I'd like to hear his take on all of this stuff that's happening in college football with teams moving to new conferences, the huge influx of NIL money, players transferring left and right through the portal etc? Also, what would he like to see for the future of Aggie football and athletics? Does he feel we should stay put in the FCS or make plans for moving up?

There are so many of these polls. Which one is the "official" one or is there such a thing?Toke69

The NCAA Selection Committee for the FCS Playoffs relies on the FCS Coaches Poll and the Stats Perform Poll as part of the criteria for selecting teams for the playoffs. Both of those polls are released every Monday during the season and can be found here:

  • 2024 Week 6: UC Davis (4-1) @ Portland State (0-4)
You gotta feel for the PSU players. I’m sure that we would feel like we got a raw deal if PSU had beaten us in the same fashion but the Ags don’t make the the calls…the refs do…and the Ags just took advantage of it.

Someone over on AGS said something to the effect that the Bug Sky obviously wanted the Ags to win and they were probably speaking to the side judge through his ear piece to call Tompkin’s catch a TD. What a bunch of nonsense!

Big Sky Week 6 Final Scores:

Montana State 55 Northern Colorado 17
    Idaho 23 Northern Arizona 17
Weber State 55 Montana 48 (OT)
Idaho State 41 Cal Poly 38
    Aggies 27 Portland State 26
  • Other Games, 2024
What a heartbreaking loss for Cal. Undefeated, #8 Miami comes back from being down 35-10 to beat the Bears with a TD with 26 seconds left in front of a sold out crowd. Damn...Cal is now 1-26 against Top 10 teams since 2004.
  • Other Games, 2024
Vanderbilt was 0 of 60 against top 5 teams until today when they beat #1 Alabama. Wow!
  • 2024 Week 6: UC Davis (4-1) @ Portland State (0-4)
My wife and I were driving to the Bay Area and were only able to listen to the first 3 quarters. We tuned into live stats with 1 second to go in the game and we shocked when we saw that the Aggies scored!

I saw some posts over on the AGS forum where they were saying that PSU got robbed and the final Aggie score was clearly not a TD. What happened? Was it a TD or did we just get a huge break from the refs?
  • 2024 Week 6: UC Davis (4-1) @ Portland State (0-4)
The Ags are obviously not emotionally ready to play on either side of the ball.
  • Pac-12 set to add Boise, 3 other MW schools
WOW...this is amazing! Who would have thought that all those brainy Cal kids get excited like this for a football game?

Everyone knows that Cal has had lots of financial problems and they've struggled to put fans in the seats of their renovated stadium but just look at the enthusiasm that has been generated with Miami coming to town. It will be interesting to see if the students' excitement is shared by the Berkeley community and the game actually draws a huge crowd.

This reminds me of how the students turned out for those few basketball games some years ago when ESPN came to town. Just having ESPN in the arena excited the students. Can you imagine how excited they would be if we were playing against nationally recognized competition as well? This is what could happen in Davis too if we were playing on a bigger stage nationally. I hope that our AD and our chancellor watch this video.
