The Aggies lost a crazy game today to Seattle 3-2 and fall to 2-1 on the year. Despite playing down a man for most of the second half, Seattle scored in the winning goal in the 86th minute when the Aggie keeper went way out of the box to try and make a stop but failed to get to the ball and the Seattle player rolled an easy shot into the wide open net. Seattle also scored on an Aggie own goal in the 74th minute. Tough way to lose. The Ags now head to Loyola Marymount for a 7 pm game on Wednesday, 9/6.

The Ags lost to LMU 1-0 today in Davis. This is the third 1-0 game the Aggies have lost already this season. The Ags will try and stop their 2 game losing streak when they travel to Lincoln, Nebraska, to play the Cornhuskers at 7 pm PT on Thursday, 9/7.

The #5 Aggies go undefeated in the Air Force Rare Air Invitational to move to 4-0 on the season. They beat Claremont-Mudd Scripps 15-5 and Air Force 18-5 today.

#9 BYU was much too strong for the Aggies today in front of a big crowd in Provo, Utah. The Cougars downed the Aggies 3-0 (25-15, 25-13, 25-11). The Ags (3-2) now trade to Pocatello, Idaho, for an 11 AM contest with Idaho State. This will be the 6th of 14 straight road games for the Aggies.

TAMC posted the official attendance at 4227 and and showed 91 degrees at kickoff.

The Ags improve to 3-1 with a four set win over McNeese State (25-10, 20-25, 25-14, 25-16). Up next for the Aggies is #9 and undefeated BYU on Saturday at 4 pm Pacific time.

I've been watching the game replay and, a couple of minutes into the second quarter, another TAMC player is puking. So two times already they've had players getting sick. I assume it's due to overexertion in the heat. You'd think they would be more used to the Texas heat than the Aggies.

What happens with Oregon State and Washington State now?

I think the biggest difference in Texas weather compared to here is the humidity level. The humidity is much, much higher in Texas. The heat in Texas is sweltering whereas here the heat is dry. The heat here is certainly hot but it's more tolerable and less dangerous than the muggy heat in Texas. I grew up in the midwest and I know what that muggy weather feels like and I'll take being baked rather than being steamed anytime!

Hawkins and the Aggies were scheduled for a 1 p.m. Wednesday charter flight from Sacramento to Dallas, where the team will overnight before bussing to Commerce for Thursday night's season opener against Texas A&M-Commerce.

Game time is 7 p.m. (5 p.m. PDT) at 11,582-seat Hawkins Field at Memorial Stadium on the A&M campus.

No, the field is not named for the Aggie head coach. It bears the name of Ernest Hawkins, a legendary figure in
Commerce history.

The Aggies began "fall" camp for the 2023 season on July 31 and Hawkins noted that his players are anxious for the season to start with an interesting non-conference game against the Commerce Lions of the Southland Conference.

The Aggies and Lions have met twice, both resulting in lopsided wins for UCD. In 1998 the Aggies took a 34-10 road win, then blasted the Lions, 36-0, the next year on Toomey Field.

The Lions won an NCAA Division II national championship in 2017, then in 2022 moved up to the Football Championship subdivision where the Aggies reside, finishing 5-6 overall and 3-3 in league play in their inaugural FCS season.

Thanks to a 10-year partnership between UC Davis and University Credit Union, the home court advantage for the university’s men’s and women’s basketball, women’s volleyball, and women’s gymnastics teams was renamed the University Credit Union Center in July of 2021.

Formerly known as Recreation Hall and The Pavilion, the arena seats 6,003 for basketball games and continues to rank as one of the largest on-campus basketball facilities in Northern California. The arena opened to the sport in the 1977-78 season and has been home to all the excitement of Aggie basketball since that time.
