I feel the same way as Les regarding how hard the team plays and that we play really well in spurts but just haven't been able to make it consistent. I thought our ball movement was really good today but we just couldn't drain our 3's. We would have won the game if we could have shot a paltry 33% from 3 but 3-18 just won't get it. I don't think you can replace 28 players leaving unexpectedly at this late date...and with a potential scandal looming, it will make recruitment even more difficult.

When McCaffrey was hired in December 2019, players were promised an incredible new opportunity under a Super Bowl champion. Instead, they allegedly experienced unchecked partiality, negligible communications and potential NCAA violations regarding financial aid.

Excellent win for sure but the coaching staff must be pulling their hair out about the TO problem! Jen looked like she was about to blow a fuse as LB cut our 19 point lead with 7 minutes to go down to 5 with 2 minutes left.

The Ags played well right up to the 7 minute mark of the 4th quarter leading by 19 when LB applied full court pressure and the Aggies began turning the ball over. Every team in the league is going to try and pressure the Ags into TO's. They had 21 TO's today to 8 by The Beach but they still managed to survive and avoid what could have been a demoralizing loss.

Ags were up by 19 with about 8 minutes to go. LB started pressing and Ags started turning the ball over. The lead is now down to 6.

I said this before, the TO's have plagued this team all season. As a team we are averaging 15+ TO's per game and that leads to a lot points off TO's by our opponents. TO's by our starting 5 by player is as follows: Burns has 46, Hall 33, Konrad 28, Stobbart 26, and Turner 23. Our opponents now know that we are prone to TO's and they are dialing up the defensive pressure and physicality to try and force us to into TO's.

This team shows flashes of brilliance but, all too often, we can go stone cold and play sloppy for long stretches. We really lack depth from the bench also. Svanholm has been the only fairly consistent help off the bench so far and that doesn't bode well for next year when we lose Hall, Stobbart and Konrad.

I agree with Obda that the last couple of years have not been very exciting. We were 11-20 in 2018-19 and 14-18 in 2019-20. Then, with the Covid shortened season last year, we were 10-8. Those sub .500 seasons combined with our current 8-6 record, which includes a bunch of cancellations and games with no fans, have really taken its toll on fan support.

I think the pandemic has sucked a lot of the energy out of the team and the fans as well. It just feels like the program has become muddled in in mediocrity for a few years now. Even the women's team is having a down year after 5 straight conference titles. Covid, losing seasons, poor student support and a lack of fan excitement in general is hurting the program and it doesn't feel like we are making significant strides forward. Hopefully, better times will come sooner than later. Winning more would help...
