    Good point, SloStang.

I think the goal this project is for it to be a state of the art facility for sports medicine that benefits not only Aggie Athletics but also will be available to students and the public for sports medicine related care in association with the UC Davis Health System. I would assume that it will provide opportunities for sports medicine related research at UCD also which would bring further recognition and prestige to the university as well. This is an exciting project.

I would assume that there is a significant cost for the all the the furnishings for offices and meeting rooms and all the medical and training equipment. State of the art sports medicine equipment must be quite expensive.

CBU is becoming a tough basketball program and they have nice facilities. I actually think they would be a good fit for the Big West Conference.

95-62 Final. The Aggie offense got on a roll midway through the second half but, the our defense left a lot to be desired....layup after layup by the Warriors. Rebounding remains a problem as well...Ags 30-29 but gave up 10 offensive rebounds.

    47-33 Ags at the half.

Pretty uneven half for the Aggies. The offense seems to be ahead of the defense so far this year. I lost count of how many backdoor cuts and dribble drive layups the Warriors scored. You can be sure that Les will not be happy with that kind of porous defense.
  • 2021 Football Recruiting
It looks like the Ags won out over a lot of good competition for Rex Connors. He had 15 offers all together including us: Air Force, Army, Colorado State, Eastern Washington, Idaho, Montana, Montana State, Montana Western, Northern Colorado, Navy, Nevada, South Dakota State, UCD, Weber State and a PWO from BYU. That says something about our the reputation of our program!

Lots of praise for Blue's accomplishments in a short period of time at UCD (from today's Davis Enterprise article):

Carrell said the Aggie EVO career-launch program and the Edwards Family Athletic Center are Blue’s crowning achievements:

“For that center, he raised about $52 million, which if you talked to people who have been around UC Davis for a long time, they’d have said (before Blue) it would have been an impossible feat … particularly in such a short amount of time.

Jim Les, in his 10th season as Aggie men’s basketball coach, had this to say:

“From a personal standpoint — and this is a widespread feeling in this department, showing how much he is loved and appreciated — we couldn’t be happier for him.

“He gets to chase his passion: golf. He gets to go back home and be around family. For those reasons, we couldn’t be happier for someone we respect and admire.

“But from the professional standpoint, we’re sad because we’re losing such an extraordinary leader. A guy who, in a short period of time, has really put his stamp not only on athletics, but on UC Davis and our community.

Although this is not surprising, given how highly regarded he has become on the national level, losing Blue is a huge bummer. He has been a perfect fit for UC Davis Athletics: highly intelligent, visionary and very personable. He'll no doubt do great things for Golf Canada and he'll be greatly missed here regardless of who they select as a new AD.

Here's nice win for the Big West Conference:

Amadou Sow from UC Santa Barbara is also on the list.
  • MBB: UC Davis v. Idaho State, Bronco Inviational at Santa Clara, Saturday, Nov. 28 1:00 pm PST.
Santa Clara beat Nicholls State 73-57 to go 3-0 in the tournament.

The Ags came back after being down 8 or 9 I think and the defense seemed better today and forced 21 TO's which led to 20 fast break points. We're still struggling on the defensive boards. The Vandals had 15 offensive rebounds.

Manjon had two 3 pointers taken away due to the Ags setting illegal screens which will drive Les crazy. Fuller sparked the team midway through the second half with a couple of 3 and I think he took 3 charging fouls also. Nice to see him and Pepper get untracked a bit. FT shooting has been great which always pays dividends in tight games.

My wife and I were able to listen to the entire game while driving home from Pacific Grove and it made for an enjoyable drive. Nice win for the Aggies. They had a chance to close out the first two games but fell short so it was nice to see them finish strong today and get the win.
  • MBB: UC Davis (0-1) at Santa Clara (1-0) 1:00 pm Friday, Nov. 27
The Ags made a game of it despite no interior presence offensively or defensively and poor 3 point shooting. Unfortunately, our final 3 possessions will be something Manjon will want to forget...offensive foul, turnover and an airball. Our FT defense was outstanding though: we held the Broncos to 16-29.

Jim Les teams always seem to start the season slow for the most part. I expect this team will improve but we got some glaring deficiencies to try and shore up that's for sure.
  • MBB: UC Davis (0-1) at Santa Clara (1-0) 1:00 pm Friday, Nov. 27
The Ags are hanging tough despite getting pounded on the boards. SC had 9 offensive rebounds to our none and scored 11 second chance points to our none as a result.
  • MBB: UC Davis (0-1) at Santa Clara (1-0) 1:00 pm Friday, Nov. 27
Les is letting this team run much more than we are used to seeing.
  • WBB: USF (0-0) @ Aggies (0-0) Nov 25, 2020 3pm
I think if anyone tests positive the whole team has to quarantine for 14 days so nothing is for certain with the schedule.
