Man, both of these teams are very athletic and CSUN is the youngest team in the nation. We have to get more athletic to keep up next year.

#2 UCSB 42 #7 CSUN 34 at the half

UCI really went after Northridge and played with a lot of energy and emotion. They were double-teaming and trapping on defense every chance they got and they have some quickness at PG and the wings. Their defensive scrappiness had the Matadors frustrated the whole game and CSUN lost their cool and control of the game.

UCI will come out sky high against the Aggies. The Ags need to come out and match the Anteater's energy while maintaining their composure at the same time so they don't let Irvine dictate the pace of the game. I'm sure they will be collapsing on Morgan every time she touches the ball so we'll need to make them pay by shooting well from the perimeter without settling for 3's every time down the court. We can be a deadly 3 point shooting team but we have had games where we went stone cold from 3 also. We'll need balance on offense and tenacity on defense.

March Madness begins today for the #6 seed Aggies at 2:30 pm when they take on #3 Fullerton. We split our regular season games with the Titans losing in Fullerton 62-58 and winning at home 66-59. Both teams ended the season with losing streaks: the Aggies lost 5 of their last 6 games and the Titans lost 3 of their last 4.

I think this is actually as good a match-up for the Aggies as any of the top 4 seeds. We know we can beat them since we've done it already at home and we came very close to winning in Fullerton. If we play great defense and make things difficult for Allman, Ahmad and Rowe we can put ourselves in a position to win the game.

#5 Irvine 59 #4 CSUN 57 Final. The Aggies will play Irvine on Friday at 12 noon. This could be a tough game. Irvine played with a lot of energy tonight and a swarming defense that forced 17 TO's by the Matadors.

#3 UC Riverside 70 #7 Long Beach State 56 Final

Anything can happen in these conference tournaments. St Mary's just knocked off #1 Gonzaga 60-47 to win the WCC Tournament and punch their ticket to the Big Dance.

The Aggies clinched the Causeway Cup today when the Aggies beat Sac State 4-0 in softball behind a perfect game pitched by sophomore Brooke Yanez. It was the first perfect game in nearly 25 years for the Aggies.

Great article about Elijah Pepper. I'm looking forward to seeing him play as an Aggie. He had offers from San Francisco, Hawai'i, Montana, Lehigh, and Bradley.

We might want to think about offering his brother Noah for 2021. He's a 6'4 SG that was averaging 24 ppg and 16 rebounds per game as of early February. Those are some impressive numbers. We've had the Eaton sisters in WBB and it would be great to have the Pepper brothers in MBB.

You make a lot of good points. I'd rather have a few very athletic 6'6 to 6'9 who have length, quickness and the ability to elevate than a slow, stiff 7 footer. Les doesn't really even go after a lot of players of that height range though. With 3 recent Big West titles recently he certainly been successful. I think a couple of athletic power forwards who can shoot from the outside and defend against bigs would really help us. We got beat on the boards a lot this year. We need some size and toughness inside but not necessarily 7 footers.

We certainly need some size. We lose a lot with Garrison Goode gone. He wasn't a prolific scorer but his defense was outstanding.

Neufeld is providing a nice scoring touch inside but he gets in foul trouble early and often and has to sit most of the game. He doesn't have the defensive presence that Goode has either. He's a tough match-up if he can learn to stay out of early foul trouble.

Les needs some bigs to keep pace with the rest of the Big West. For example: Hawai'i has 5 players over 6'8 that includes three 7 footers. Riverside had two 7 footers in the game last night. Irvine has 5 players over 6'8 including one 7 footer and Northridge has 4 over 6'8 including one 7 footer.

The Gauchos played Morgan very, very physical and were hammering her every time she went to the hoop. I guess their game was to not let Morgan beat them by herself. They limited her but the rest of the team stepped up to make the game a rout.

Very tough loss tonight that's for sure but also a nearly unbelievable comeback after being down 12 with 1:27 to go in the game. I loved the fight that this team showed tonight.

We had trouble with their two 7 footers and their 7'1 guy, Callum McRae, hit the game winner for them and he's just a freshman.

This team is deep and firing on all cylinders right now.
