I know the place you are asking about but, for the life of me, I can't remember then either!

This kid sounds like a great get for the Aggies and a perfect fit with his academics and hard work ethic.
  • High Motor Podcast: Dan Hawkins
So I'm here to tell you all that the Aggies are going to be right there in the national title discussion at the end of the regular season.

The first part of this KCRA "investigative series" aired last night. My wife and I saw it and we both agreed that it was terrible reporting. It felt heavily biased and very misleading.

They included just a couple of sentences from a brief interview with Kevin Blue that didn't even scratch the surface of the topic. UC Davis Finance Director, Kelly Ratliff, was very articulate and essentially said that, yes, athletics receives funding from a variety of sources just as all the academic departments do as well and it is UCD's goal that they are all represented and supported fairly.

They started the piece off by talking to a professor from Shenandoah University, Dr Fritz Polite, who began by calling college athletics the "the athletics industrial complex." So you get an idea about just how unbiased he seems to be.

It was awful news journalism and the worst part is that it is to be continued with more "investigative reports" to be aired.
  • Where’s the new equestrian coach?
    Hahaha...too true and too funny!
  • Aggies win two !
That's great news! I just saw that the Aggies swept the 3 game series with Northern Colorado winning today 12-0. Wow...what a fast start!
  • Aggies win two !
Great analysis. I always so impressed with the amount on knowledge you and ProAggieGuy have when it comes to Aggie baseball. I wonder if we'll ever get lights for the Aggie field? That would make for some very nice evening games and would probably increase attendance.
  • Aggies win two !
It would be exciting to see the Aggies become one of the better baseball programs in the Big West. The women's softball team is off to a good start too so far. It's great to see these sports getting better each year.
  • MBB 2/16 7 pm: Long Beach (9-17 & 3-7) @ UCD (9-14 & 5-4)
It was great to hear Williams say all those great things about the culture of Aggie athletics and how the players have bought into it. He credited tonight's win to the culture that Les has created and, like you noted, he said he sees that with Hawkins also. I remember on Wednesday when Marsh made a comment about how smart the players are and Williams said, "Yep, typical Aggie athletes."

That's a great start for the Aggies!
  • MBB 2/16 7 pm: Long Beach (9-17 & 3-7) @ UCD (9-14 & 5-4)
This was a gritty, gutsy win by the Aggies. We could have packed it in after the way the first half went and TJ getting injured. Les said that it was a emotional locker room at halftime and the team vowed to win to win the game for him.

TJ was on the bench with a full leg brace in the second half. I'm sure they'll get him an MRI tomorrow and then we'll know what the deal is. I'm hoping this isn't a career ending injury. It looked like a Long Beach player fell into his the of TJ's left leg but it was hard to tell because four players hit the deck hard. TJ gets knocked around so much and plays so hard that you just expect him to pop back up but not this time. I'm hoping for the best for him. He's a warrior.

Bob Williams should be beside Scott Marsh for every Aggie game. He's great to listen to. He said this was the gutsiest win by the Ags he's seen this year of the games he's been at.
  • MBB 2/13 7 pm: CSUN (10-14 & 4-4) @ UCD (8-14 & 4-4)
A member of the Big West Boards says that Bob Williams is living in the gated community of Lake of the Pines north of Auburn. That's a pretty long 63 mile, one and a half hour drive to Davis in the best of weather.

Here is a link to some nice photos from the game by Adam Abridge:

You can see Chima Moneke sitting on the baseline near the Aggie bench in photos 7-9. Chima played in 11 games with Denain ASC Voltaire in France and averaged 10.3 ppg with 5.6 rebounds per game while shooting 54% as a starter. It was great seeing him back in Davis.

  • Hero Sports: Keelan Doss Proud to Represent UC Davis In Draft
Nice article about Doss. He's so typical of being an Aggie...intelligent, humble and mature. He's got his values right and he's mature enough to know to simply focus on being genuine, working hard to improve and let the chips fall where they may instead of stressing out with what you can't control. He's a great ambassador for the Aggies and the university. All the best to him.
