Maybe we'll get a chance for payback against NDSU this year...yikes!
  • WBB 11/16: Aggies (0-2) at Portland State (2-0)
After two straight lackluster performances the Ags continue to play poorly and trail PSU 33-20 at the half. The Ags are shooting a horrendous 20.6% from the field that include only 1-19 from 3 = 5%! How is it possible shoot 1 for 19 from 3...wow!

Bertsch, Bessolo, Hall are a combine 3 for 18 combined. The team is lacking leadership from the verteran players.
  • Historic Aggie Weather Games
The historic 1982 semi-final playoff game against NDSU. Played in the mud, cold, drizzle and fog. Ags held the Bison on 4 downs from the 6 yard line to win 19-15 at go to Texas for the title game. Lost Ken O'Brien to a knee injury though and we got beat 34-9 by Southwest Texas State.

Thanks Mike, I saw that the Courtyard Riverfront is entirely smoke free also. We're going to drive up in the morning with some friends and are debating staying overnight or just driving home or maybe even staying in the Truckee area.

Are there any good places to stay in Reno that are smoke free? My wife and I avoid anyplace that allows smoking and I don't want to trade fire smoke for cigarette smoke either!

What a strange week it has been. I wonder how all that has taken place and the change of venues will affect the teams. I know that it must be disappointing for our seniors to not get to be honored and end their Aggie careers in front of a packed house on their home field. We need to be mentally ready. Sac would like nothing better throw a brick into our playoff chances.

From the Aggie website: Air quality precautions for Saturday's Causeway Classic

We are closely watching the AQI and will continue to abide by the well-established NCAA guidelines that govern air quality. We are in constant communication with the Big Sky Conference about the game, and are evaluating contingency plans should a necessary change in the game time or location takes place.

UC Davis Intercollegiate Athletics has followed these guidelines consistently in the past and is continuing to do so. Outdoor activities are modified when the Air Quality Index (AQI) exceeds 150 and canceled if the AQI exceeds 200. Additionally, sports medicine personnel have full authority to stop outdoor activity at any AQI level if student-athletes experience respiratory problems.

I was in downtown Sacramento today and it was the worst air I ever been in anywhere. It's like being in an apocalyptic, polluted world of the future.

The local news just reported the Sacramento went from 252 at 6 a.m. to 343 currently and an air quality sensor in Lincoln is reporting 432 there! We are quickly going beyond unhealthy air to hazardous air in the valley.

I don't see any way that this game gets played on Saturday. I'm not sure how many fans would even show up in such poor air also.

A lot of people were wearing masks in Sacramento today. I heard the N95 masks are sold out just about everywhere locally. I think I'm going to order them from Amazon. The crap in the air right now can not be safe to breathe at all.

The ramifications of this game getting cancelled could be huge for the Aggies:

    1. The Ags could lose a co-share of the Big Sky Championship since EWU and or Weber could finish 7-1 records vs our 6-1 record.

    2. It would likely cost the Aggies getting seeded and force them into a first round game.

    3. It would be unlikely that the Selection Committee would give the Ags a first round game at home
since there is no guarantee that the air quality will be better by the following weekend. They would not risk a playoff game possibly being cancelled and messing up the entire playoff schedule.

    4. There would be a big loss of revenue for the Aggies. Would the Athletics Department refund fans who have already have tickets? Loss of revenue for vendors as well.
