  • Week 1: UC Davis @ San Jose State
The Aggies offense is sputtering. I hope the defense can hang on...
  • Week 1: UC Davis @ San Jose State
Our defense will need to play really tough in the second half and keep the Spartans from gaining momentum.

Way too many mistakes so far for the Ags...that won't get the job done...
  • Week 1: UC Davis @ San Jose State
Well it looks like either Bruce or the media department misidentified Modise's ME major...it's either mechanical engineering or managerial economics..either way, his story is one of resilience and determination and a great example of the kind of opportunity that college sports, done the right way, can give young men and women.
  • Week 1: UC Davis @ San Jose State
Bruce Gallaudet has written a wonderful article about the remarkable journey of Namane Modise from the tough streets of Oakland to UCD football with a degree in mechanical engineering on the horizon:

Did anyone attend the Coaches Show or tune into the broadcast?
  • Week 1: UC Davis @ San Jose State
Bruce has been writing some very nice, in depth articles for the Athletics Department about various, unique aspects of UCD athletics along with some personally insightful articles on individual athletes. He's been doing an excellent job.

Guess they want to limit their exposure to the possibility of an embarrassing loss! :joke:
  • All Sac State home games on CW31.
That's a big deal for Sac. They'll get a lot of exposure and publicity by televising all their football games on a local tv channel. I'd say they are a significant step ahead of us in promoting their football program with this deal. I wonder if they will be carrying Sac's basketball games as well? T
  • WBB 2018-19 Schedule
I agree, the home OOC schedule is a bit thin but it seems like up and coming mid-majors like the Aggies have a tough time getting better OOC opponents to come to the Pavilion. The men and the women generally have to be road warriors if they are going to play against the bigger name programs. After the great year we had last year that included wins over WSU, St Mary's, Yale, Wyoming, and Kansas State, I thought we might see some bigger names coming to the Pavilion this year.
  • Week 1: UC Davis @ San Jose State
I looked everywhere online and I'm not seeing anything about the game being televised. Root Sports and Pluto TV do not show it on their schedules for the Big Sky nor does the Mountain West Conference. I assume the game will be broadcast live on the radio by KHTK 1140 and KDVS and the only other he only other media I have seen scheduled is Live Stats. So it appears that we won't be watching the game on TV.

    Bummer!!
  • WBB 2018-19 Schedule
Hall and Bessolo will certainly be key players for the Aggies this year. All the returning players will have a lot of valuable experience behind them after last year's run in the WNIT.

We have a couple of newcomers, true freshman, Makaila Sanders, and JC transfer, Cierra McKeon, who bring sensational scoring abilities to the Ags this year as well. Junior Utah transfer, Katie Toole has two years of PAC 12 experience and RFr Kayla Conrad was an exceptional player in high school. The speed and intensity of the college game is usually a big adjustment for new players but, as we've seen with Hall and Bessolo, Jen Gross is now getting players with the athletic ability to be able to step in and contribute early in their careers.

The challenge for this team will be how well they come together and execute on the same page with each other. That may take some time after losing the "splash sisters" to graduation last year.
  • WBB 2018-19 Schedule
It will be fun to see the different line ups that Jen Gross can put on the floor this year including a "twin towers" line up when both Bertsch and Stobbart are on the floor together. Morgan has improved her outside shot so we could see her out at the high post with Stobbart inside too. That will make for some tough matchups for our opponents.
  • Idaho and the Causeway Classic Start Times Set
Good point...the heat could be brutal for them...
  • WBB 2018-19 Out of Conference Games

    12/17 vs St Mary's
  • New Commit MBB
Les has been pretty good at finding the "diamonds-in-the-rough" players who have been largely undiscovered or largely overlooked. With Murphy and Manjon commiting it looks like he has found two very early in the recruiting process.
  • New Commit MBB
It looks official since verbal commits.com is reporting that Aaron Murphy, a 6'6 200# SF, from Modesto Christian has committed to the Aggies. He had another offer from Cal Poly.
