Another game day experience we need to improve on is the broadcast on game day. Davis doesn’t do a bad job on the game day broadcast (every home team produces their game day broadcast) but it could be much better. Davis broadcast mostly ran by students.

One thing they could do better is update the scorebug

if we were to to alternates, either a gold jersey or throwback would be ideal. I’m not a fan of the Tahoe jerseys. We need to build the brand.

If I could choose an alternate it would be a gold jersey, blue numbers, white accents. Light blue Tahoe is not a part of the brand. Brand growth is of the upmost importance right now as we are growing the program.

After doing research, I would expect the Davis uniforms updates to be complete by next season.Smaller schools update one jersey per season. First was the Tahoe uniform last year (which I don’t like), then the home uniforms this year. The White uniforms templates should be updated next season. I’m happy with the home uniform updates.

I think Sac State was smart to move up when they did. It’s better to get into the party and then figure it out. I don’t think Davis will be as bad as Sac State when we move to FBS. Davis is one of the top teams in the FBS the last couple of years… SAC State was a mid team in the FBS.

I don’t expect SAC State to build a new stadium. I predict they will play their home games at the new Rail yards stadium. They can build a new practice facility where their stadium is now.

Davis has been doing a better job getting ready for the FBS Jump. We have a good practice facility, and are preparing a stadium renovation. There are a lot of admin improvements that need to be made.

One thing that needs to happen is getting an NIL collective together for Davis.

I think you’re right about seeing how Cleeland looks during the Montana game. I’m excited for that game, I’ll be there.

Improvements Im looking for in the SD game
-Cleeland being settled in. Not throwing balls high. If he looks how he did in the second half the offense should be able to move the ball well. Need to connect on those deep passes.
- Better pass protection. Pass protection was abysmal. The line did a terrible job picking up blitzes/ d line stunts.
- Better gap discipline on defense. They were fine on inside runs but struggled on outside runs.
- have the same level of pressure on the QB like the second half.
- Special teams - improve kick coverage/ lane discipline. No more penalties on kick/ punt returns.

I expect all phases of the game to look improved next week as most of the game Davis was beating themselves.

The kickoff coverages wasn’t too bad but we can’t give up punt returns.

There is a lot of work to do on special teams for next week. The penalties really hurt us. We have a great returner.

I wonder why all the other FBS games I’ve been watching has great ESPN coverage but the UC Davis game had the janky big sky coverage.
