So I checked out ESPN to make sure things were working/. I brought up the Idaho v Cal Poly game. Wow - great picture! Either Poly has really upgraded their video (I hope we do as well) or ESPN is pumping up the bandwidth this year.

The dude should have taken care of his classwork. He is, after all, a “student athlete” and not here just to play football.

To be competitive at the top of Div I basketball requires a player payroll of $10 million according to The Athletic this morning.

Remind me how this serves education. What’s the number to be a competitive mid-major team? $2 million? And there’s no accountability for all this money.

Good start for the Ags

We're up 16-13 but it feels like we should be down instead.

Talk about the gangs that couldn't shoot straight! Wow - this is brutal. And something happened to Sevilla.

The Hawai'i game was just the opposite where it devolved into tackle basketball. Q4 was really physical with no calls.

Sevilla hasn't been the same since he returned from injury. He's such a gutty player.

At the half it's Poly over UCSD 35-16

Good game to watch. The Ags are going to have to shoot well and quit going around screens and fight through them instead. Do the women have the energy in their legs? It's been a long season with the starting five taking the vast amount of the minutes.

Where does the Mountain West have its tournament? Too lazy to look it up I'm afraid.

The women didn't fare much better with Norris on first team and Bennet on 2nd team.

That's the Big West saying "bye bye and don't let the door hit you on the butt as you leave."

And yet Sevilla is playing a rugged defense. I admire his game deeply. He’s tough.

Norris has been bothered by very physical play. That was certainly the case for Hawai'i and Long Beach.

It's funny - there are some teams I take a disliking to for some reason over the course of the game and others that I find myself admiring. UC Irvine is one of the teams I enjoy. I like how they play. UCSD is much the same way. Hawai'i and Poly fall into the "lesser reviled" category. <grin>

Bennet is so incredibly smooth. What a pleasure to watch her operate.
