  • WBB: Idaho (1-0) vs. UC Davis (1-0), Friday, 11/7 at 11:00 AM
There were busloads of elementary kids on campus for a variety of STEM events before the game. Then they got the sheepdogs going and herded them all into the Facility Once Known as Rec Hall. it was LOUD. I got warnings from my watch about exceeding safe continuous sound limits.

If there had been that many solid basketball fans for the Ags in the facility the place would have totally rocked. Even half that number would be amazing.

And this team clearly deserves to be seen and cheered for. They played a high-tempo team that could switch in a flash from defense into transition. But this is an Aggie team that does the same thing - better!

Here is a gallery of shots from the game.

Ags go up 76-65 before 5,667 screaming fans with 7:02 to go. Five Ags in double figures. Starters have all but maybe 5 points

At the end of the 3rd it’s Ags by 2. Fast paced game. Both teams running. Vandal transition game is awesome. Will we have enough stamina to hang with the deep visitors? A quarter will tell

Played almost 4 minutes of clock time to open the game

I can’t remember a faster game than this. 33-24 Ags4:28 to go in the 2nd quarter. Band sounds great. Kids are screaming. The joint is jumping

This is a home game, guys.
  • MBB: North Dakota State (0-1) at UC Davis (1-0), Wednesday Nov. 5, 6 pm
A sobering stat for us: we gave up 24 points on turnovers to 11 for us. Not great. At all.

The end of the first half featured a dunk by NDSU that was ruled as after the buzzer. And I can definitely prove that it was!

    Not quite in time
  • WEEK 11: UC Davis @ Idaho
Wow - 2022 - who'd have thought it? I ride around Sochor Field quite a bit and watched them take up and then install the new surface. It was quite fascinating to see the depth of preparation the new field required. Is it better than grass or Acme Screendoor and Field Surface? No idea. But I don't think we can lay injuries even mostly on the field. As athletes become more powerful they surely put more stress on their bodies and finding the right balance between pure strength, weight, and what the body can actually endure must be an increasingly difficult assessment for trainers and coaches. You can look across all of sport these days and see the rate of injury, substantial injury, rising. Compare an NFL lineman from the 60s to a college lineman in even the Big Sky let alone Ohio State. It's a different world. At some point we'll reach a limit and may already be there.

We seem to have watched the same game. I thought Tsami looked a little lost out there from time to time, especially toward the end of the 4th quarter. But with all the changes with the on court players it's no wonder! I wonder how Jen sorts it all out as she watches the various combinations.

The injury to Kanagasabay just looked awful from the moment it happened. I saw the trainer working that knee and have bad feelings. She clearly has a real talent but how to strengthen after her previous injuries is a mystery to me.

I sure saw a lot to like for the women's opener. We'll learn a lot more on Friday.

    Bring ear protection.

Noise cancelling headphones are pretty much essential for Aggie games - they've imported massive subwoofers, cranked up the bass along with the volume, making going to Aggie basketball games somewhat unpleasant. Almost as bad as football where we just quit going and watch on TV.
  • 2025 WEEK 9: Aggies @ Bears in Greeley, CO 12:00 PM PT
As a guy who watched a lot of Sochor-coached games I saw the turnover and was expecting a toss into the end zone on that first play. NOT a criticism, just reverie.

Whew - he has some moves that should take the numbers right off his jersey.
  • Sac State Made Crowd Safety Mistakes for Lil Yachty Concert, Expert Says in Sac Bee Article
I think it was Ch 10 that ran the clips of the Sac State President dumping on Montana. I was thinking "who IS this guy" because I thought he was someone in the athletic department. But nope. I mean you can be behind your team but dissing Montana like they were a second rate team from the sticks who only win because they play weak teams . . . it was beyond the pale. Shame on Sac State. I hope no one at UCD goes this route EVER.

I stand corrected. But still ... amazing how good he is.

I simply cannot believe CP is a true freshman. I hope we can keep him but just having him this year is super.

I've lost the narrative on what's happening with Sac State and why this will be the last year we will have them on our schedule?
