I flipped on a few times also. Irvine has the size and experience that will be very tough for us to handle. They were able to totally shut down Mallett, who was able to hit every shot against us.

In other news, UCSD took care of suc st by 15. Tritons are certainly making waves early in the season. Hopefully we come out strong on Tuesday. I’m ready for the Aggie losing streak to stop.

I couldn't take it and bailed at halftime. Coach Gross has some serious work to do.

Might be one of the worse halves of basketball I've ever seen by the Ags. Passing balls straight into double teams, standing around watching while the ONE USF player grabs the rebound, standing around on offense. I could go on and on. Something just is not right with this team yet this year. Really surprising given how much experience they have on the roster.

Yeah Milling has missed a few open shots that I would've expected him to make. Good to see Ba back on the court. Always been a fan of his outside shot, so maybe he can inject some life in the perimeter game. Mallette was just unstoppable. As a true freshman, he has a huge career ahead of him.

I do know that there are kids of band alumni that are (or will be) in the new band, so there may be some push. But I agree, probably won't happen.

Kind of surprised we've never played Pepperdine before. You'd think we would've played every D1 CA team at least once. Are the Waves the only one left? I guess Cal Baptist since they just completed their transfer to D1. Any others that we haven't played? I think that's it...

No pajamarino this year. Kind of feel like the band-uh was the driving factor behind it, and when the band was dissolved, no one was left to push for it. Maybe it comes back next year???

Watched a good portion of the beach game. They have no inside game but they have a couple of guys shooting lights out

I know it's not BW, but throw in Pepperdine (who we play Wed) hosting Utah Valley. Might give us a glimpse of what to expect this week. That game tips a 7:00.

My son and one of his HS buddies go/went to WSU...two others of their HS gang go to UCSB. Some big time bragging rights riding on this one.

This is a pretty interesting night. We'll find out a little more about what to expect from Suc st. next Tuesday at the Golden One, and see how a retooled beach stacks up (UCLA is a top team, so this one probably won't be close). Along with the 49ers on MNF, looks like the remote is going to get a work out.

You're probably right to a point, we can do some marketing to those towns now, without a big increase in funds. But, to really start to make inroads, to get the average person who doesn't think about UCD athletics, to really get comfortably with the notion of consistently going to Aggie games, will take more money.

Yeah, the hurdles to moving up would be huge on the field, as big or bigger off. Any move would HAVE to come with a massive uptick in the marketing budget. And I'm not just talking about a few more signs posted around town. Stuff like getting Unitrans to send game day busses to each Elementary school in town to make it easy to get the locals there. Real marketing to Woodland and Dixon. Work with the local little leagues/youth football/boys and girls scout/etc, to increase awareness. Cooperation with Frats/Sororities and other groups on campus. A MILLION more things that all cost money. Right now, we look like a lower level program.

Guads is a new-ish mexican place on 3rd and University. 3rd street between the campus and downtown was redesigned recently to make it more of a pathway for students to go between the city and the campus. The owner of Guads (https://guadsdavis.com/) have two other places in town, one next to savemart (or the old Lucky's if you go back that far) and one in south davis next to Nugget. This one is geared more to students...good service, good beer, good food, with a nice patio. Place was packed on Saturday.
