it’s always good to chat with you and the family. As for the ‘game’, I was a bit underwhelmed. The constant music and constant sideline banter was a real distraction to me from the action on the field. Seemed to take away some interest from the between quarter activities too.

As AgAlum said to me, having some kind of program would have been nice to help us identify who was who. Like the backup QB.

One thing that caught my ear listening on the way to the spring game : Marsh said Rocek might be back if he can get in a grad program

I think he’s really good on the radio broadcasts of football and basketball

he has at most 3 games, unless the post season bid comes to us. I doubt he’ll play big minutes on Saturday, and going off for 25 or more in the BWC tournament game.

Rocek looked fine when he was in. He and Borra totaled less than 10 minutes. I think it was a strategy to combat their 3 shooting.

This was especially sweet to me cuz I thought the Tritons had WAY too much fun at our expense at Davis. Pope played 35 minutes in a 33 point win, and had at least 15 points well after we gave up the ghost. 3 starters with 33 plus minutes, and firing 3’s just about every time down the court early in the shot clock. Nice payback win.

That was only their second home loss; other was a 2 pointer to SDSU.

That DeBruhl miracle shot was the key. It was slipping away and that gave us some life, and caused a bit of desperation with them.

Les coached his ass off to get us to the finish line with all the fouls. Starting and playing Tamba over Niko seemed to pay dividends. They pounded it inside, shooting way fewer 3’s than at Davis.

Pepperdine is struggling also. Just fired Romar. WCC teams might hesitate to schedule us; lose and get fired!

That 3:00 tip off Saturday will coincide with my drive up to Davis for the Spring Game -> radio broadcast might be too much of a distraction when I'm driving the backroads through Antioch/Rio Vista/Dixon!

I watched a bit of the Irvine game - they are really good. The are deeper than any other team, and have a variety of ways to score. Add in the fact that they play tough and smart, and it’s clear why they are at the top of the league. Still surprising that we beat them AND barely lost down there.

I think that Beach loss turned into 2 - a hangover vs. Riverside two days later. Win that one, and this road trip doesn’t matter. Oh well
