i saw us as a 1/2 point favorite; that, of course, will be greatly influenced by who is healthy and ready to play. crowd size will also play a part -> i saw they players where out yesterday trying to drum up interest in 'International Night'. tee-shirts for the first 1000 fans. everybody likes free stuff.

wouldn't be surprised to see Angiwe out until the must-win (if you want the 6 seed) vs Long Beach.

Looking ahead….if we beat the Beach, we’re 6 no matter what happens Thursday. And if Bako can’t help us, we’d be 7 if we lose to the beach. Correct?

about the calls : I had a similar conversation with a friend who coaches HS basketball. They were down 2 with seconds to go in section semifinal. Get the ball to their 7 footer down low, defense collapses on the ball when he brought it down, players struggle. Whistle, then ball goes in. Jump ball, possession opponent. He complained ‘ref shouldn’t affect game like that at the end, players should’. I countered the players DID affect the outcome by making a great defensive play, and a no whistle would have been the ref affecting the game. Like Irvine wasn’t rewarded for doing what they had to do.

Hawaii over Irvine 72-67. Anteaters could have helped us there.

I wish our travel schedule was more like the rainbows!

Borra made some BIG plays at the end (I’ll overlook the two missed FTs). A block and a couple key rebounds. Poly seems to bring out the ugly in most teams especially us. Ty struggled from the floor but had big FTs and he’s protecting the ball better. Glad to get out with a win. Good to see Beasley dressed as an emergency player.

Announcers, who again i thought were outstanding, said Angiwe was dealing with turf toe?

    And Ty turns his ankle

Need a second half (18 points after a cold first half) from Eli. And Johnson to take over like last time vPoly

Down 26-24 at half. Seems like it could be worse based on out shooting.

Video seems better now. Pretty good announcers

Pepper off to a 1-10 shooting start. We don’t look very good
  • MBB: UC Davis (16-12, 9-7) at Cal Poly SLO (7-22, 1-16) Sat., Feb. 25 at 3:00 pm
Not as bad as our shooting.

Looks like Beasley is suited up?
  • MBB: UC Davis (16-12, 9-7) at Cal Poly SLO (7-22, 1-16) Sat., Feb. 25 at 3:00 pm
They show us as 6-7 point favorites; maybe the insiders have a better idea of who is suiting up!

Thought it was interesting we are 12-3 in games we are favored

I think the travel requirements of bring the lone NC team in a 20-game conference schedule is taking a toll. No short bus rides for us
  • MBB: UC Davis (16-12, 9-7) at Cal Poly SLO (7-22, 1-16) Sat., Feb. 25 at 3:00 pm
If Long Beach beats us next week, probably a moot point
  • MBB: UC Davis (16-12, 9-7) at Cal Poly SLO (7-22, 1-16) Sat., Feb. 25 at 3:00 pm
We announced the no contest Wednesday around 10:30. Since we’ve had no word go we assume we’re playing?

still can't find a definitive answer to how many players a team has to have in order to use the no-contest rule. my google skills have not been up to the task. i read a COVID era article that the Big12 rule was 7 available scholarship players. No idea about the Big West
