Thursday was a holiday and I think a lot of students don’t have Friday classes. There were a noticeable lack of students downtown Friday when I was there. We stopped at U of Beer at 5:00 after basketball and it was empty. Hopefully we’ll get them back this week.

West side stands weren’t as packed as the first three games. We need a full, loud crowd

I agree. You just wonder ‘what if’ that fake punt is stopped and we take over at 40. Get up 14-0? Of course they have the firepower to make that up in a hurry.

That was a ballsy call on their part. Maybe showed their feelings about how they could stop our offense.

I thought the defense was decent until they got worn down in the second half. We just couldn’t get a drive going and get them off the field.

It’s funny how a few plays can have a big impact. Stop them 3 and out, score a touchdown, and stop them again. Momentum and confidence. Fake punt that barely makes it, followed by a TD.

I saw the first half and was impressed by the defense. Good to see us push the ball inside a bit. Outside shots aren’t falling, but it looks like we’re ready to break out - more often than not, the shots look like they are going fall.

Young guys had their positive moments. They had a little trouble with ball handing which is to be expected, but seemed to fit right in. Certainly held their own on defense. Nice to be 2-0 vs decent teams

I had heard it had to do with travel issues, so I’m thinking they want to get out of town early. They wouldn’t fly in today and hit the floor at 2:00.

We’re listed as 7 point favorites. Seems like a high line for an early season matinee. I’ll be there for some of it - have a football teammate returning today after 40 years away and trying to find a sliver of football staff time to visit. I think we’ll have to bail early to do that.

I thought the defense was improving on containment after the first couple drives. It’s one thing to practice vs scout team, another to see it at full speed. Hopefully, that experience helps this week.
