i was looking at the previews of games for the high school championships. some of the records are bizarre. there are several teams with 6 losses, i think one with a 6-7 record, heading into the weekend. teams had lousy regular seasons (maybe a tough league, tough preseason) got into expanded playoff fields and then ran the table. probably too many divisions.

looks like they averaged about 7000 in regular season, had 10000 for playoffs

It was a fun atmosphere for the women. Bigger crowd than their norm, and the energy level was high. Darius does a really good job engaging with the crowd. There was hospitality on the west side, community day kid activities on the east, and the men’s team gathered in the south end for the post game meal.

I believe the new school pays the buyout. Most of the contract have a prorated buyout.

Had Cal not had the COVID issue they would have beat Arizona and been a bowl team.

I was sitting with a football coach at the basketball game today and asked about Montana’s dirty play. He agreed that was their style - cowboy mentality to intimidate you. Also, little Hauck is the worst. Referees let it happen

With the transfer talk in football, I was curious what happened with the basketball players who entered after last season. Koehler graduated and is a contributing member of society. Squire ended up at Portland State where he hasn’t appeared in a game. Don’t see anything about injury/redshirt. He’s be a big help with the Ags this season.

I also noticed former At Gio Nelson is a Viking reserve.
