  • MBB: Aggies (12-15, 6-5) at Cal Poly (7-18, 4-7) 7 pm Thursday, February 20th
Much more aggressive offensively lately. Shot 35 free throws!
  • MBB: Aggies (12-15, 6-5) at Cal Poly (7-18, 4-7) 7 pm Thursday, February 20th
Pulling away- defense shut them down in the last 5 minutes turning a 4 point lead to 15
  • MBB: Aggies (12-15, 6-5) at Cal Poly (7-18, 4-7) 7 pm Thursday, February 20th
15 free throws so far. If we were shooting our recent norm we might be up 10 instead of 2. Mooney with 0 points?
  • MBB: Aggies (12-15, 6-5) at Cal Poly (7-18, 4-7) 7 pm Thursday, February 20th
Poly has been tough at home. I think they are 0-13 on the road but 7-3 at home (4-1 in conference). Tend to play tough at the Mott (the Hoople) Center. We had an epic multiple OT win there a couple years back (92-84 3OT in 2018)

yeah, there is that! They might go after a FBS who has a FCS team scheduled, and help them pay that off. We’ll figure something out

pretty sure it will be a FBS team. Sounds like we’ve reached out to a bunch of FCS teams out of the area with no bites. I’d be fine with UNLV
  • MBB: UC Santa Barbara (16-8, 5-4) at UCD (10-15, 4-5) 7 pm Thursday, February 13th
Seems like our shooting has improved with the increased aggressiveness to the hoop from Manjon, Fuller and Printup. Opening up the outside a bit. Vs Fullerton at home, they forced us further and further out, since we had no threat of going to the hoop. They rendered Mooney harmless and shut down Gonzo after his first two 3’s

Article on department website says Gonzalez is currently leading the nation in three-point shooting percentage. He’s been on fire since Hawai’i game
  • Daytime basketball game?

football charters almost exclusively (they flew commercial to Ssm Diego last year because it was much cheaper). Pretty sure they bus to Poly (and Sac of course), fly to the other Big Sky teams.
  • MBB: CSUN (11-15, 6-4) at UCD (11-15, 5-5) 5 pm Saturday, February 15th

these are really great! I really enjoy seeing pictures from games I attend, allowing me to see plays from a different angle.

The opening sequence with Diane was really cool.

looking ahead, we have the central coast trip (hope for a split, I think USCB will adapt to our small lineup), LBSU (we don’t seem to lose doubleheader’s) and Hawaii (tough home finale) at home and Riverside on the road. 4-1 would be incredible and put us in 2nd. I think 3 wins is more likely, which should be a top 3 finish.

BlueGoldAg I’ll see your Poundstone and rise you a Travis Tritt solo show. Two plus hours of great songs and lots of funny stories. If you have not been to the Bob Hope (Fox) theatre in Stockton, see a show there. Great old Art Deco theatre. Cool place to see one of the famous ‘class of 89’ .
  • MBB: CSUN (11-15, 6-4) at UCD (11-15, 5-5) 5 pm Saturday, February 15th
If we have a 5 point lead with 2:00 to go in any game, we win. Free throw shooting is incredible. Small ball is great for offense. Might catch up to us defensively. Win the rebound battle again
  • MBB: CSUN (11-15, 6-4) at UCD (11-15, 5-5) 5 pm Saturday, February 15th
Our FT shooting Is ridiculously good
  • MBB: CSUN (11-15, 6-4) at UCD (11-15, 5-5) 5 pm Saturday, February 15th
Live stats link is broken. Dreaded 404 message and it shows Utah logo (baseball). I guess it’s ESPN tracker
  • WBB: UC Irvine (8-16, 4-6) at UCD (13-10, 8-2) 2:30 pm Saturday, February 15th
Do they ever lose on doubleheader days? Up 20 in the 3rd
  • Daytime basketball game?
That does look weird. If you go to tickets, that game isn’t listed . It shows that time in multiple locations (including Fullerton’s website). Weird
  • EWU faculty report critical of football program and athletic department budget.
The president uses the ‘front porch’ analogy referring to the fact that athletic events might be the first (and only) exposure young kids gets to the college. Of course, if applications and student numbers are dwindling, they need to spruce up the porch to give it more curb appeal.

you are the second person who has recommended Poundstone (she's coming to our theatre in a couple weeks). might have to check it out. i'm missing saturday to see Travis Tritt's solo acoustic show in Stockton.

i think Printup was injured somewhere around the NIU game. he had a big game v Portland and was solid vs NIU, then disappeared. we don't hear anything about injuries, so that's my guess.

i like Kohler's energy and tenacity. i was sitting with Sam Young last night and every time Kohler made a play he's yell out 'that's my guy!'. i think Sam likes him because they have the same vertical leap!

i thought we thoroughly outcoached them last night. we had answers for all their runs, we attacked our strengths, and somehow nullified their size advantage. coaching and effort brought that win home

i was really impressed by our play on both ends. Fuller and Manjon were very aggressive going to the hoop which opened things up. good ball movement, making that one good extra pass to get the good shot. Gonzalez was very aggressive at the hoop, which is something we haven't seen from him. we outrebounded them by a bunch which is very surprising at first glance, but i would think much of that was helped by the fact that they were 7-16 from the free throw line (lots of easy rebounds there) vs our 21-24. i was also impressed by how we dealt with their runs. in the first half, we were up something like 20-8 midway through, UCSB called a time, and came out POUNDING the boards resulting in several second (and third) chances. i was thinking 'uh-oh, well, that was fun while it lasted'. but, lo and behold, we kept at it and maintained that 10 point lead through the half. got to 20 until Heidegger went berserk to get it down to 8 or so...but....we stayed tough, hit all our free throws and didn't turn the ball over. fun game, good crowd with the student staying after their dinner!

i was listening to Les on the post-game. i kind of sensed that Nuefeld might be out awhile, just from his tone about the team 'embracing the small ball concept earlier in the week when they could have hung their heads'. nothing else was said, and maybe there's nothing there, but sounded like we might be playing small out of necessity for awhile.
