Yikes; held on but it was a nail biter.
  • MBB: Aggies (6-11, 0-1) @ Long Beach State (6-12, 1-1) 7 pm Thursday Jan 16th
i REALLY like to see them beat Long Beach. Them and Fullerton. And Poly. And Hawaii. And....
  • Playoffs
I’m not sure you could do a multi-week playoff without the home games that the lower divisions have. I’m not a big fan of all the home games. I’d be happy with 8 teams if the goal is to pick the best team. The 20 team playoff in FCS is ridiculous

It was a team Aggie freebie (and hospitality) today.
  • WBB: Hawaii (6-8, 0-1) at UCD (5-9, 0-1) 2 pm Saturday 1/11
Tough timing for the women going head to head with the niner game
  • MBB: UC Riverside (10-6, 0-0) at UCD (6-10, 0-0) 7 pm Thursday 1/09
The two bomb 3s at the shot clock were killers. Got to 3, forced bad shots and they nail them to get back to 9. Even if one misses, we have a chance
  • MBB: UC Riverside (10-6, 0-0) at UCD (6-10, 0-0) 7 pm Thursday 1/09
2 1/2 favorites tonight, so basically even. Hopefully a good student turnout to pump done energy into the pavilion

i know we have beaten this poor horse beyond recognition..but....i thought it was interesting to look at Sac's schedule. 4 home games, Merced, Simpson and two Big West. i think getting teams here is a bit more challenging then we might think. i have to think attendence is part of that -> you must have to guarantee teams a payout for home-game onlys. that might explain why UCSB (9) and Hawaii (11) had some many home games, many (in UCSB's case) with teams on a one-off, home-only case.

i agree; lthat's what i was mentioning above about UNI getting a game at St. Marys on the thursday before they played here. One of the bay area teams or Sac or UOP would make for a nice doubleheader for a team from the midwest.

We’ve had 3 home-home with WCC teams the past two years, hoping Portland comes to us next year. We had a home-home one season with UOP; nothing with them since. Seems like we’re limited to Big Sky or WCC (besides SMC and Gonzaga) as choices, unless a team from the Midwest can combine us with another local school (NIU played at SMC)

I was frustrated last season; had everybody coming back but never out it together.

I remember texting a friend after the Sac game ‘it’s gonna be a long season’. Since then, the young guys really grew up, and Mooney, Nuefeld and Gonzales have really been consistent offensive weapons. We play good D, protect the ball and do OK on the boards.

Hard to project the league due to schedules. A month ago I thought we’d be at the bottom (with poly); now hoping for a winning conference record and top half. I’ve enjoyed watching this group; planning out some Saturdays to come up and watch

I think it’s chance to brush off some of the post holiday rust and to give the bench guys a chance to play. Minutes for those guys in conference play will be few and far between, but you need them engaged and energetic for practices if you hope to compete

Holy schmoly, 101-41. Good to see everybody get a chance to play. Back to reality next week

I believe men’s game Friday is free also

    Free admission, correct?
  • MBB: Aggies (5-9) at New Mexico (12-2) 1 pm PST 12/29
Printup puzzles me. I was sitting on the court for NIU and thought he provided some physicality and length on defense, and was solid on offense. He had a good outing at Portland with 11 points in something like 20 minutes (he may have started). Seems like we could have used him yesterday against a big, athletic team

Reno has a nice balloon festival and Tahoe is nearby. Similar descriptions of their highlights

if I lived in Albuquerque I would have a nasty outlook on life also

Tough loss since we struggled in the last 2 minutes with a couple costly turnovers and missed shots. I would have loved to beat those guys
