as an aside...i have a friend who has some special needs. he and his buddy love going to the high school football/basketball games. i gave them a ride home the other night from the playoff game and just as i was about to hit the gas, the guy in the back starts clanging his cowbell. about drove off the road. so, you'll be in good company!

as a second aside.....do you remember when my son was sitting with us and brought a duck call of some sort? the guy in front of us (who hasn't shown up more than twice in past 3 years) was CLEARLY not amused! i think he ratted Brian out to security!

From watching the press conference clips, I like their coach. Comes across as an honest, down-to-earth coach. In the clip where he was talking about Doss, its the first time I have ever heard an opposing coach talk about an opponent's high character. That was kind of cool.

i was reading on a FCS fans facebook page that their defense is really hurting with injuries. LB's and DB's. That would be huge for our pass game. We will need to get a decent run game going, which wil be a challange against their front 7. I thought they looked pretty solid vs. Lamar.

NCAA regulation. I mentioned on a FCS board prices for our game and someone said ‘you must have a sponsor buying them because NCAA doesn’t allow free tickets for playoffs’ . From what I gleaned from that board, Aggies were the only students getting in free ! And they have a hosted tailgate!

Some interesting changes for this game since it’s officially hosted by the NCAA. Parking in lot 56 is limited only to Team Aggie donors (only one spot, and has to be person on the list), because ESPN and NCAA needs a good chunk for parking. No stadium club hospitality-> NCAA taking it over for merchandise and other ‘experiences’. I think announcement today that ASUCD is paying for students is due to NCAA rules against ‘free’ tickets.

I’ll be there earlier than normal for a good parking spot and soak up the atmosphere

i just saw on Facebook that there is a student tailgate starting at 1:30. Free entry, food trucks, free pepsi products. music. $2 woodstock pizza. $3 beer. if they can't be bothered to come over for THAT, there may be no hope.

i was surprised that UNI only drew 4100 folks on Saturday. maybe a full house of 10000 will seem really big to them!

I'll be there at 1:00, ready for the tailgate! Even have a hotel for the night, so i don't have to make the drive home!

for the TV basketball games, they had to pick them up midweek. Makes it seem like more of a special event. And they need to have some kind of cap (enough to fill the three sections), so they can sell the rest of the east side

I think they are trying to make it a hot ticket like they’ve done with ESPN games; it’s worked well there. And I think they need to limit students so they can sell surrounding sections. Riding a bike to the box office for a free ticket doesn’t seem that onerous a task.

I’ve only watched second half. Pretty simple offenses. Good size on both teams lines. I think both teams will have trouble prepping for our pass game. UNI rum game is oksy

Lamar is pretty aggressive with blitzes. I think Jake would tear that up

I can think of games several years back vs UCLA or Cal where it looked like a scrimmage vs the JVS. Yesterday they belonged in the court

I saw sun this morning, now rain. Forecast for late next week has bounced around a bit. I’ll wait until mid week to figure how to dress

John had a nice game, hopefully first of many. TJ was solid maybe wore down a bit down the stretch. GG had some good moments. I agree that Fuller is starting to play better. Gonsalez did some good stuff, and seemed to deal well with the pressure.

Something to build on. Not many easy wins out there in the preseason.
