    can’t, granddaughter birthday
  • Week 8: Aggies @ Cal Poly
I’m going to Montana, passed on EWU. Might rethink that depending on the next copy of games
  • Week 8: Aggies @ Cal Poly
How is the cal poly standard different than CSU?
  • Week 8: Aggies @ Cal Poly
I have no specific cases of who gets in or not; just know that kids have to be qualifiers to have their cases brought to admissions. and that should be it. if a school is holding their athletic departments to higher standards than qualifying, that's an institutional decision that can't be too popular with the program! this isn't a case of letting in a non-qualifier.
  • Week 8: Aggies @ Cal Poly
i think the more likely scenario is that Plough gets snapped up. I really don't see Dan leaving for another program, especially with the momentum that is being built from Mrak Hall on down to the football program.
  • Week 8: Aggies @ Cal Poly
its not about grades...its just a matter of qualifying. meet the minimum acceptance qualifications (i think its 3.0 in UC required classes) and you are eligible to play at Davis, Berkeley and UCLA.

same is true at Poly....meet the CSU minimum, and they can get you on campus there, the same as at Sac.
  • Aggie Stadium
we are finally getting back to the 2007 attendence levels. be nice to sustain a 9000+ level for a year before we start talking about expanding. Here is a throwback:

    2007:
Western Washington : 9690 (hotter than the surface of the sun)
    Northeastern : 7140 (rain)
    Poly : 10743
    South Dakota State : 9375
San Diego : 8876 (Epic game)

i think we've finally gotten back to a season ticket level on par with 2007, so that helps. should be able to build on that in the future.

I thought the NCAA minimum attendence (not capacity) was 17000, but. As movielover points out, that’s far from a hard requirement. I’ve linked a list of all FBS stadium: Idaho (16000) and UN-Charlotte (15000) were both below that. All MWC are at least 29000, so you’d think that’s a level where they would take a prospective new school seriously.

I thought filling one berm with seats added a couple thousand. It’s the addition of second decks that push it way up.

  • Week 8: Aggies @ Cal Poly
I think the recruit level has gone up considerably the past two seasons, and should continue to improve with success in the field (and to a point Sac’s and Poly’s, to a lesser extent, struggles)
  • Aggie Stadium
I think sear expansion would have to be at least 10000 if the ultimate goal is FBS, to meet minimum attendence requirements. I think original ‘next phases’ had a 30000 buildout. A lot depends on what phase 2 looks like
  • 2019 Recruiting List
Fells contracted MRSA in his ankle, and it was not detected for awhile (chronic ankle injury). Quite a battle to get it under control, came slow to losing his leg. That ended his quite productive career.

I saw him at the alum pregame last season and he looked good and was doing well.
  • Aggie Stadium
Phase 2 will have a big name sponsor to cover a very significant amount of the cost. None of the above mentioned
  • 2019 Recruiting List
chancellor is there week in and week out. Nice to hear they were on the field enjoying the emotion.
  • 2019 Recruiting List
I know they had a bunch of recruits in last Saturday. Good timing!
  • Aggie Stadium
I think you’d need about 15000 folks kicking in at my level to make this a reality. Or get one really big sponsor!
  • Week 8: Aggies @ Cal Poly
Their losses are to North Dakota State, Weber, EWU (bad) and Montana. Wins over Brown (bad team) and Sac (surprisingly bad). Hard to get a great read on them. If they turn it over, they have trouble. If they don’t, they rack up yards. Got to stop the big chunk plays
  • Week 8: Aggies @ Cal Poly
I can honestly say that among players of my era, we despise Poly, much more than Sac. Back than Sac was bad and we were in the midst of something like 20 straight wins. Poly was our rival and it was heated. 1980 we were marching with O’Brien for a game winning score when he got sacked from the blind side and fumbled. Almost identical situation in a tied game vs Santa Clara; they kicked last second FG for win. Those two got west coast playoff bid and met in Semis; poly won it all.

For years (still) poly teams that lost to Davis didn’t get their team photo on the wall of locker room. Ellerson likened the rivalry to Army-Navy when he got the job there.

It’s a really good state school but it’s not a UC. Look at the rankings of public universities.
  • Week 7: Big Sky
We have had to evacuate the stadium once before in 2010 vs Sac. That was a near capacity and getting folks out for lightening took little time. That being said I can’t imagine temporary seating but there was plenty of space available last night
  • Aggie Field Trip to Folsom Prison...
I was wondering if this was a follow up to an arrest of a few years back
  • Aggie Field Trip to Folsom Prison...
Way back in the day (mid 70’s) the frosh played the Eagles of San Quentin. Road game. I remember reading a story written by some one from that group that was shared to the Grid Club. Good stuff
