Got it. I was having this same conversation with a staff person at the lunch on Thursday. They have no clue on days or times (I remember some MWC Monday games). I’d think we have control on the non confefence games but maybe some of those are tied to TV.

is that announced somewhere?

not sure how much say we’ll have in the conference games, especially the televised games.

I’d like to know the game times. Hoping for 6:00 weekdays and Saturday afternoons for selfish reasons.

i was just talking about the whole transfer thing and how much i missed the old Big West where you got to see guys for 4 years. Now, its more like get to know them for 4 months.

i think we will see a HUGE improvement in special teams with the addition of a dedicated coach. Plough was raving about vonAppen in the spring. We can't afford to have a game lost to special teams, or allow teams to stay in a game due to terrible kick off coverage.

I'm hoping that some of the improvement will come from scheme changes. In a zoom, Plough talked about trying to change looks on 3rd downs and being a bit more aggressive as a way to help get the defense off the field - one of our weaknesses the past few years, in my opinion. They were very successful in the spring vs. the first team offense in creating confusion, so hopefully that will carry forward.

i figure it will take 1/2 the season to not select 'Big West' when i check the scores on the ESPN website!

Weber State’s stadium is really nice. I didn’t have any time to explore the area. St George has the advantage of a great location if you want to explore all the national and state parks. But, as someone mentioned, stadium and game experience is lousy.

i'm not sure about the media payouts, but the MWC has traditionally sent more than 1 team to the NCAA basketball tournament. all schools share equally. last year, they sent 6 so a payout of roughly $12M compared to the BWC's $2M. of course, with the schools that have left, they won't get 6 next season!

my expectations for England-Argentina were pretty low after the first 10 minutes of overly-physical play, but once that got out of the way it was an epic game. Especially the second half. What a finish.
