I agree. I don’t remember any full houses during my time. No playoffs during that time .

I fear it’s in the campus and community DNA that athletics is just not going to be a big deal (unless it’s in TV!). In the golden days, we didn’t need PR to get folks to the games.

I do like the idea of dynamic pricing on the weekday games. The idea, of course, is that folks have a great time and come back. Kind of like giving free food, then beating up a solid team brings them back. Oh wait, that didn’t work

I was scanning through the seasons stats and our 3 point shooting has really tailed off in BW play. In preseason, most games we were around 40% from beyond the arc. One or two games near 20%, but pretty solid the rest of the games.

In BW play? 23, 33, 22, 60(LB), 15, 10. So, one outstanding and one decent, the rest pretty bad. Maybe if we can pound it inside, we can create some open looks outside. Even shooting 33% would be huge. 3-10 last night and we cover the spread ( no, I don’t bet these games!)

Not pretty but a win they had to have. 3 point shooting is contagious. We need to catch that bug!

At least they trimmed a late 9 point lead to 3. Hopefully come out inspired

i'll be there saturday for the doubleheader. basketball alumni day/team aggie event. that makes for a fun day. last, Les came out and talked to the alumni and invited them into the locker room for the pregame talk. that was pretty cool. looking for a sweep this week. both men and women

we're 13.5 favorites. that's a REALLY big number, but we covered the Long Beach spread and that was around 10.
  • Interesting Sac Bee Article About Jim Les
We kind of lucked into Les -> thank goodness! His son was here as a very late signee, he was let go at Bradley, and we needed a coach badly. Had Tyler not been here I can’t imagine we’d have attracted his interest. Can’t imagine who Tumey would have found (I shudder to think!)

Two championship seasons is pretty sweet for fans. Following up a senior-laden championship season with another possible contender ( one who knocked off a pac12 team who hasn’t recovered from that beat down) is very impressive. Fun team to follow, great kids to cheer for. Very happy he’s here. He seems to have embraced Davis.

  • MBB 7 pm Wednesday: Long Beach State (9-11 & 3-1) @ the Aggies (11-6 & 2-1)
I saw that we are currently 64 in RPI. At the end of last season we were at 160. Maybe ours will drop throughout big west play since teams are ranked low. Surprised at the difference
  • MBB 7 pm Wednesday: Long Beach State (9-11 & 3-1) @ the Aggies (11-6 & 2-1)
its only gonna get worse. i was at a high school game last week, and the '6th man' section was dead. no cheerleaders (its a sport now!). dance troop strolls in about mid 2nd quarter, distracts the guys in the section, does their 'epic' performance and leaves. last minute of a 2-point game, the PA yells out 'okay 6th man crew, last minute, let's hear that granada pride'. could have heard a pin drop. big change over the past few years in that area.
  • MBB 7 pm Wednesday: Long Beach State (9-11 & 3-1) @ the Aggies (11-6 & 2-1)
Nice win especially with only 6 from Chima. Silar with 29, Johns and Mooney with nice contributions. And beat the spread!

i was surprised to see we are 6.5 point favorite tonight.

  • UC Davis Dream Team Debate
My memory is shot. Who was the big guy we had a few years ago for one season, transfer from somewhere. Tough inside with nice shooting touch. Recieved a NCAA post graduate scholarship. He graduated and perused advanced degree instead of returning for another season. Monson? He had a lot of potential, wish he had more time with him
  • UC Davis Dream Team Debate
I only saw a handful of games back then (our Davis careers overlapped) but looking back , he’s game was so well suited for this era of the three

I’ve been following promarily since the D1 era so I like your team except I’d put Caligari ahead of JT. Preston Nuemeyer ( please correct my spelling) was awfully good when I was a student and would have strived with the three pointer.

JT, Harden, Payne and JT in the rotation
  • MBB 6 pm Saturday: Aggies (11-5 & 2-0) @ Fullerton (10-5 & 3-0)
I thought the line about ‘they came on as league favorites’ was good. By whom? We graduated 3 starters and our sixth man ( and had a guy who played quality minutes transfer). Shocked they have a message board!
