  • Big West MBB Scores Week #2
    ↪movielover
gotta love that stylish hat she’s wearing during the national anthem
  • MBB 6 pm Saturday: Aggies (11-5 & 2-0) @ Fullerton (10-5 & 3-0)
48-37 at half. Gonna be hard to come back unless the defense REALLY shows up in second half
  • MBB 6 pm Saturday: Aggies (11-5 & 2-0) @ Fullerton (10-5 & 3-0)
I don’t see Goode in the box score( not watching the stream). Not suited up?
  • MBB 6 pm Saturday: Aggies (11-5 & 2-0) @ Fullerton (10-5 & 3-0)
And we miss both FT’s. I jinxed it
  • MBB 6 pm Saturday: Aggies (11-5 & 2-0) @ Fullerton (10-5 & 3-0)
We’re 11-11 from the free throw line. Keeping us in it.
  • MBB 6 pm Saturday: Aggies (11-5 & 2-0) @ Fullerton (10-5 & 3-0)
They finally miss a couple. Still hanging at 30-24
  • MBB 7 pm Thursday: Aggies (10-5 & 1-0) @ UC Riverside (5-11 & 0-2)
Nice win. Good to see Silar with a hot hand. We started ice cold but defense kept us in it until we got on that 13-2 run late in the first. Survived their late first half run and slowly chipped away, then pulled away. Nice road win. Fullerton will be a test for both teams.

Mooney is still struggling from three. Good looking shot but it’s not falling. I feel like he’s one hot spell from becoming a real threat for us.
  • Toler back to Cal
Good for him; he's a Cal guy, so this is a great job for him. I think the feeling was that he was a real up-and-comer, so he would be on the move to a bigger program sooner, rather than later.
  • Peerless season culminates with Payton finalist for Davis WR Doss
I read comments from Doss somewhere that made it sound like coming back was nearly a done deal.

The more I see and hear from May, the happier I am with that choice.
  • Peerless season culminates with Payton finalist for Davis WR Doss
Sure sounds like he is staying, but let’s hope he makes it official.

By the way, pretty cool that May was there. Can’t imagine many chancellors show up for events like this. No Blue, so maybe he took his place, but still I think that says a lot about his feelings about athletics. I was impressed when I saw him last Saturday at the Holy Names game, but this is even better
  • Nice article on Ron Gould
we honored all of Gould's commitments, so he may have gave a verbal commit prior to the coaching change.
  • Cutts out as HC at UCR
They beat Cal to start the season then haven’t done much. Two wins over d2 (is Merced even that?) teams. Timing is very weird
  • Keelan Doss Named a Walter Camp All-American
I think Doss is coming back but that’s based on nothing concrete. Just the comments he has made recently make it sound like he plans on returning.

If he is going to declare it will be soon. Deadline is January 15.
  • Would Tougher Non-Conference Schedules Be Better for MBB & WBB?
    ↪aggie6thman
6th what I was referring to is when we host. Do we guarantee an amount or is a home/away series an even deal? Just wondering how UOP can get Reno and Vegas as home games? Looks like they played Wyoming home/away the past two years. They haven’t been good in awhile, but they seem to draw more than us

I imagine money comes into it (it is college basketball!) do we guarantee some payout for visiting teams?
  • MBB 2 pm Saturday: Holy Names (6-8) @ the Aggies (8-5)
    ↪Goags20172
my wife would have loved ‘China Grove’ at halftime. That was the song they did a routine to as high school song leaders!

First half was a clunker, with us depending on Chima for scoring. Second half was bettter. Printup struggled from the floor but others contributed. Russell looks young but played better as the game went on.
  • MBB 2 pm Saturday: Holy Names (6-8) @ the Aggies (8-5)
I’ll be there with a couple of buddies. Section 109. It is interesting to hear a name pronounced after reading it (and saying it to yourself). Against WSU, they had a player named Malachi. When I was following via game stats I read that as the Italian ma-LACH-chi. I was picturing the Malachi brothers who hanged up against Fonzi and Pinky Tuskadero in the Demolition Derby (with the dreaded ‘Malachi Crunch’)

So disappointed when I turned on the TV broadcast and heard MAL-a-kai.

Just making a quick glance ( and it’s hard to distinguish ‘home’ games in tournaments) I only found one or two Mountain West at BWC games. Maybe need to Big Sky home/away or find a Midwest te looking for a few days and a couple games in sunny California
  • Would Tougher Non-Conference Schedules Be Better for MBB & WBB?
I think the schedule for men’s this year has a good competitive balance. I’d just like to see more home games. We’d had five if you count Sac ( I like the golden one location) and two are gimmes. Most big west have one of those games, only a handful have two. I looked at UOP’s schedule. 7 home games including Reno and Vegas. We might need to be creative and work with USF or UOP so a visiting team can fly out and play two games ( like WSU women did with us and USF). Teams like Montana play two SoCal teams in three days.
  • MBB 2:30 pm Saturday: Aggies (8-4) vs Radford (6-6)

the mighty Holy Namers! I’ll be there
