  • DeLuca named NACDA Athletics Director of the Year
    ↪LeFan
That's been my feeling. The bigger mistake was starting the program, not relegating it to a club sport. It just rubs me the wrong way to listen to all of these parents claim the school doesn't support women.

Man, the equestrian parents are pissed on social media about this.
  • MBB Big West Tournament, UC Davis (19-13, 11-9) v. CSU-Fullerton (17-16, 12-8), Thursday, Mar. 12, 8
Not sure how this is going to work out in the MW next year.

The team has had the tendency to play to the level of their competition (for better or worse...) And that's why we play the game. I'm not holding my breath, but there is always a chance.

So do Sevilla, Cooper and/or Stokes play against UCI?

    Way too close!

It was a really great event last night. In my opinion, it could be twice the size. I feel like what was missing was any sort of support from the school for auction items. Maybe tickets to something at the Mondavi center. It seems like after its first year, there is a lot of opportunity for growth.

As a friend of Jeff Fontanella and long-time wine club member, you won't be disappointed with that item. He'll be pouring wine tomorrow night, too.

I'm an android user. So that may be the issue.

I think the app just sucks. If I open the link in a browser, works fine.

What am I missing? When I click the PayBee links, it opens the app and just shows me that I registered for the event. I don't see anything about the auction.
  • MBB UC Davis (16-10, 9-6) at CSU Fullerton (13-14, 8-7), Thursday Feb. 19, 7 pm, on ESPN+
I don't know a lot about basketball, but we threw that game in the trash. Why did we keep killing so much time on every possession in the last few minutes, then failimg to set up decent plays?

We can call them "student-athletes" all we want but it's different from what it used to be. — cmt

I disagree when it comes to Davis and it's why I donate and am so passionate about our athletics programs. I love hearing all of the stories about kids who stopped playing after college, then went on to do something else that is equally remarkable. I truly believe in the "Aggie guy" mantra.
  • Dropping Equestrian and elevating STUNT
Women's rowing, men's wrestling, men's swimming and diving and men's indoor track and field were all cut at the same time in 2010.
  • Dropping Equestrian and elevating STUNT
I'm a little cofused on the outrage. Equestrian will still be a club sport, and scholarships will be honored "throughout their undergraduate dergree completion..."

Edit - reading more, it looks like it means the program will have to be funded by the students, which probably negates the benefit of the scholarship. That is a bummer. I don't know, I get the "Aggie" aspect with horses, but always felt equestrian was a giant boondoggle for a very small minority of students.
