• Big Sky and Other FCS Games Week 5
Which team do you think the Ags would want to win, considering they do not play the Grizz?
  • Week 5: Idaho @ UC Davis
    Will Pint be replaced?
  • Week 5: Idaho @ UC Davis
What was the declined penalty for?
  • Big Sky and Other FCS Games Week 5
Yes, in all the Cal chats I read/follow everyone is bringing his name up. Might be nice to put Sac State in a coaching scramble and keep them down.

Troy Taylor would be a great hire for Cal plus he is a legend in Berkeley.

Wow, I hope they don't get fired. They are probably saying what others are thinking.
  • Week 5: Idaho @ UC Davis
I know Pint because they started doing that either in my last year of school or maybe the year after, when I still lived in Norcal and could go to games.

Not FCS but Oregon losing to Stanford in OT is probably the surprise of the afternoon.
  • New Covid Protocol - Vax or Neg Test required
While I do agree with having religious exemptions, some professions such as medical should have the right to mandate the vaccine given the nature of the business.
In other cases, I don't think a private company should force telecommuters who never go into an office to get the vaccine (in order to keep a government contract as an example).

I had J&J shot and had a minor cold (just enough to not work) and it was over in 24 hours after I caught Covid-19. My spouse had Covid-19 and was moderately ill for 7-10 days. Not bad enough to even go to the hospital after being tested but could not do anything other than eat, sleep, hurl, and shower.
Oddly enough we think a nurse from our rural clinic passed it on at super spreader event that had multiple ladies test positive. We don't know if she's been vaccinated or not (she's nice) but there's evidence for either.

I checked for tickets now per ESPN and prices for that EWU-UM game have dropped quite a bit from two days ago when I checked and the cheapest tickets were in the $80 range. Tickets now about $44 which is still high, but not bad for a top rated FCS rivalry game. Had I known sooner I would have gone. Oh well, I can watch/listen to the Ags game instead. With the way Cal is playing against fellow Palouse team WSU, the Ags game with Idaho cannot start soon enough.
  • New Covid Protocol - Vax or Neg Test required
Spouse and I have very different ideas about the vaccine. Hers sadly are closer to Rollovich.

Also for those who refuse to get the vaccination they can still use medical/religious exemptions if they are found to be valid and schools already have vaccine requirements.
  • Week 5: Idaho @ UC Davis
    Who is Maggie the Aggie?
  • New Covid Protocol - Vax or Neg Test required
Yeah, WSU is playing at Cal and UI is playing on campus at Davis.

Idahoans never wear masks. That said, Moscow is better than most and it's a slightly more conservative version of Davis. Lots of mask wearing in Moscow compared to podunk nowhere in WA (very near to ID though) that I am in.

Its too bad the Ags are home. This would have been the perfect weekend to see them up here. Both UI and WSU are playing the norcal UCs in CA this weekend and my spouse is on a trip.
  • Week 4: UC Davis @ Weber State
I'm jealous of all of you in Norcal. You guys get it live. I listen on 1140 tunein so mine was on a short delay too.
  • Week 4: UC Davis @ Weber State
I am starting to like their potential playoff chances. I would rather see Sac lose every game, but could you imagine a Sac @ UCD Playoff matchup a redux of '88?
  • Week 4: UC Davis @ Weber State
Wow, they end the streak and win in a really difficult place to play!
  • We're Number 40!!!
Yeah I saw that story on City Data and I was surprised that so many there think UCLA is more desirable than Cal. I don't get it either.
  • Week 4: UC Davis @ Weber State
Was this the story you were referencing?
    https://www.standard.net/sports/weber-state/2021/sep/22/big-sky-conference-football-size-too-big-weber-state-uc-davis/

I know Weber has a semi-rivalry with ISU that they usually win and with SUU leaving they have options. However, having them as a protected rival makes no sense from our perspective. We are one of the few teams with two pre-existing rivals and most (excluding Montana, EWU, UI, Weber until SUU leaves and ISU) all just have one. Sac I think is written in the current schedule to always have our game in the last week now.

If CP stops playing us, they lose their only real rival. I do like that they get to play Sac too but it will take a long time before they view their rivalry with Sac like they do with Davis. They already take us more seriously than we take them (of course they are a top draw when they play here and the team get hyped but its not the same as beating Sac State).
  • Big Sky and Other Games Week 4
Looking back at my comment, I see Presbyterian lost to Dayton, not Davidson. My bad!
Montana is 3-0 and I like their chances next week in Cheney. Perhaps if they win, UW may not feel so bad.
  • We're Number 40!!!
Cal would probably differ with USNWR because of how their rankings are biased towards private schools and I would agree.
