Aside from the obvious difference between outdoor beach volleyball and the traditional indoor form, are there different rules? Do the indoor and beach teams share the same scholarship players? Are some players better at beach than indoor?

At Cal, Rugby is a sponsored varsity sport. Cal fans are very proud of their team. Rugby is a huge deal there.

The benefit of playing in Socal over half the season against schools the average California baseball player knows is a good thing. They need to upgrade their facilities rather than look to downgrade to the WAC.

I mean sure San Diego doesn't have a whole lot of fans really, but you are playing in a beautiful beach city in California. That has to mean something for recruits in a non-schollie league.

If they kick us and Poly out then we should lure Sac State to the Big West. If us and CP were kicked out, they'd still want one California school or they'd lose their leverage with the Big West. I have always wondered if the Big West hasn't invited Sac because of CP/UCD in football.

Troy Taylor is a really smart man with a degree from Cal. I loved listening to him on KGO covering Cal games and was sad when he left because he had some really good insight.

In fairness, this is how we got Hawkins. But Hawk had just flamed out with the Buffaloes. Without the local connection for both, this would never happen.

Plenty of flights to Spokane and rent a car to go to the game. I believe there are also hourly buses to Cheney & EWU from Spokane every day, as well. But if you're flying in, might as well rent a car or cab/uber/lift whichever floats your boat.
